Sleep and breathing in children with Joubert syndrome and a review of other rare congenital hindbrain malformations.

Background: Joubert syndrome (JS) is an autosomal recessive disorder with a distinctive mid-hindbrain malformation known as the "molar tooth sign" which involves the breathing control center and its connections with other structures. Literature has reported significant respiratory abnormalities which included hyperpnea interspersed with apneic episodes during wakefulness. Larger-scale studies looking at polysomnographic findings or subjective reports of sleep problems in this population have not yet been published.

Background: Married or long-term partnered patients with chronic diseases generally have better outcomes than unmarried patients, likely due to the potential for multifaceted support. However, the impact of marital status on multiple sclerosis (MS) radiographic disease burden is currently unknown.

Objective: To compare total white matter hyperintensity lesion volumes, periventricular lesion volumes, and whole brain and grey matter volumes in married and unmarried people with MS (PwMS).

Low-avidity T cells drive endogenous tumor immunity in mice and humans.

T cells recognize neoepitope peptide-major histocompatibility complex class I on cancer cells. The strength (or avidity) of the T cell receptor-peptide-major histocompatibility complex class I interaction is a critical variable in immune control of cancers. Here, we analyze neoepitope-specific CD8 cells of distinct avidities and show that low-avidity T cells are the sole mediators of cancer control in mice and are solely responsive to checkpoint blockade in mice and humans.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 agonist safety and efficacy in a multiple sclerosis cohort.

Background: While glucagon-like peptide-1 agonist medications (GLP-1s) are on the rise, their safety and efficacy have not been studied in people with MS (PwMS).

Objective: To investigate any adverse effects of GLP-1 medications in the MS population as well as their effectiveness for weight loss and vitamin D augmentation.
