Despite the critical roles of nondominant perforators, choke vessels, and direct and indirect linking vessels in flap vascularity, current models of flap perfusion focus on a primary large caliber perforators. The delay phenomenon, microvascularization, neovascularization, and vascular evolution, which depend on smaller caliber vessels, remain unaccounted for. We propose that the "circulasome" consists of the sum of the entire vascular components of a given region, such that the region is supplied by a primary supplying vessel.

Accumulating data reveals that tumors possess a specialized subset of cancer cells named cancer stem cells (CSCs), responsible for metastasis and recurrence of malignancies, with various properties such as self-renewal, heterogenicity, and capacity for drug resistance. Some signaling pathways or processes like Notch, epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), Hedgehog (Hh), and Wnt, as well as CSCs' surface markers such as CD44, CD123, CD133, and epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) have pivotal roles in acquiring CSCs properties. Therefore, targeting CSC-related signaling pathways and surface markers might effectively eradicate tumors and pave the way for cancer survival.

Increased vascularization, also known as neoangiogenesis, plays a major role in many cancers, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), by contributing to their aggressive growth and metastasis. Recent studies on the epitranscriptomic code of SARS-CoV-2 infection have discovered various RNA modifications, such as N6-methyladenosine (m6A), pseudouridine (Ψ), and 2'-O-methylation (Nm). The effects of RNA methylation on SARS-CoV-2 replication and the enzymes involved in this mechanism are emerging. In this review, we summarize the advances in this emerging field and discuss the role of various players such as readers, writers, and erasers in m6A RNA methylation, the role of pseudouridine synthase one and seven in epitranscriptomic modification Ψ, an isomer of uridine, and role of nsp16/nsp10 heterodimer in 2'-O-methylation of the ribose sugar of the first nucleotide of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA.

In the present study, we aimed to describe the 13-year results of patients with CRC based on the Shiraz Colorectal Cancer Surgery (SCORCS) registry system in patients with a pathologically confirmed diagnosis of colon cancer (CC) and rectal cancer (RC) undergoing surgery.
