Image-guided photodynamic therapy is acknowledged as one of the most demonstrative therapeutic modalities for cancer treatment because of its high precision, non-invasiveness, and improved imaging ability. A series of purely organic photosensitizers denoted as BTMCz, BTMPTZ, and BTMPXZ, have been designed and synthesized and are found to exhibit both thermally activated delayed fluorescence and aggregation-induced emission simultaneously. Experimental and theoretical studies are combined to reveal that modulation of the donor of the photosensitizer enables distinct thermally activated delayed fluorescence via a second-order spin-orbit perturbation mechanism involving lowest singlet charge-transfer and higher-lying triplet locally excited states, respectively.

This study assesses the ability of FDG-PET to non-invasively detect residual high-risk pathologies including ATC and poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma (PDTC) in the preoperative setting.

The chemical passivation of these defects has been addressed through a multifunctional molecule, 4-((trifluoromethyl)thio)benzoic acid, that contains the carbonyl (CO) group, which exhibits a strong passivation effect by interacting with both the organic cation (FA) and uncoordinated Pb ionic defects while the sulfur (S) heteroatom passivates Pb defects at the grain boundary and on the surfaces of the perovskite layer. Additionally, the CF group protects the perovskite film from ambient degradation as well as stabilizing the perovskite framework by forming hydrogen and coordination bonds with the FA cation and Pb ions, respectively.

Purpose: To report longitudinal changes in choroidal thickness and the choroidal vasculature using SS-OCT imaging in a patient with superior ophthalmic vein thrombosis (SOVT).
Observations: In a 93-year-old woman with a left-sided SOVT, the choroid in the left eye was thickened and the choroidal vessels were dilated both superiorly and inferiorly, with greater changes evident in the inferotemporal region of the choroid. After the superior ophthalmic vein was decompressed, a decrease in the choroidal thickness and choroidal vessel dilatation was observed both superiorly and inferiorly.
