A 14-year-old boy developed hydronephrosis and worsening renal function due to fibroepithelial polyps of the bladder and left ureter at the age of 12 years. The endoscopic treatment of ureteral polyps was attempted by his previous doctor; however urethral stricture and ureteral stricture developed and was untreatable. Therefore, he was referred to our hospital for further reconstructive treatment.

This study presents an original design and prototyping method for a smart sleeve for FES applications. The chemotherapeutic agent tegafur, a prodrug that prolongs the half-life of fluorouracil (5-FU), exerts antitumor effects against various cancers. Since tegafur is metabolized to 5-FU by CYP2A6 in the liver, the expression of CYP2A6 determines the effect of tegafur. Here, we report that the expression rhythm of Cyp2a5, a homolog of human CYP2A6, in female mice causes dosing time-dependent differences in tegafur metabolism.

Purpose: To determine a recommended dose of liposomal eribulin (E7389-LF) in combination with nivolumab in patients with advanced solid tumors, and to evaluate the safety, efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and biomarker impact of this regimen.
Experimental Design: Japanese patients with advanced, nonresectable, or recurrent solid tumors and no existing alternative standard/effective therapy (except nivolumab monotherapy) were assigned to either E7389-LF 1.7 mg/m plus nivolumab 360 mg every 3 weeks, E7389-LF 2.
Background: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is associated with interoceptive deficits expressed throughout the body, particularly the facial musculature. According to the facial feedback hypothesis, afferent feedback from the facial muscles suffices to alter the emotional experience. Thus, manipulating the facial muscles could provide a new "mind-body" intervention for MDD.
