We had previously found in autologous human leukocyte cultures, in which dead neutrophils phagocytosis by macrophages occur, macrophages and T CD4 lymphocytes perform a selective cell-cell interaction showing many figures of either one, two or several T- lymphocytes adhering to a central macrophage were seen. Considering that antigen presentation would be necessary for the formation of these immune synapses, we attempted to block rosette formation (i.e.

Background: This work is presented from a "problematic" perspective in the attempt to establish a dialogic relationship between the educator and the student-subject, mediated by the object of knowledge. It is oriented to the integral education of the helping students departing from a closer approach to the scientific research. This work was carried out by a teacher and two hired students.

Introduction: Not very often an integrated approach is applied in knowledge areas as Immune System, instead, the contents are usually a sort of "atomization" that prevents from having a holistic vision of the set as a whole. At the moment, our university students usually incorporate the Internet in their study work, similarly, the teachers can resort to this tool to "widen" the boundaries of the real classes. Perhaps, to achieve a deeper study level in this knowledge field, the use of NTIC may result an appropriate resource for complementing and supporting the current conventional techniques.

In human Chagas'disease previous work has shown the occurrence of a T-lymphocyte CD4-positive population (a high producer of PAS-positive glycoproteins) with evidence suggesting a role in the formation of damages to the myocardium and neural structures in chagasic heart disease (ChHD). Other workers have taken such facts into consideration and have employed gangliosides (biological substances with neurotrophic and immunomodulatory properties) in chagasics with chronic cardiomyopathy and disautonomic signs, obtaining an Improvement in functional signs and a decrease in the number of PAS+ lymphocytes. In the present work we have studied the effect of mixed gangliosides (Cronassial on cell cultures of total leukocytes, or on mononuclear cells prepared through Ficoll-Hypaque.

Unlabelled: The purpose of this work was to obtain new data on factors intervening in the production and progression of human chagasic cardiopathy (HChC) with death by cardiac failure. We studied cardiac samples of patients that died at an early mean age versus others that died at older ages. The infiltrating cells were characterized and quantified by means of specific monoclonal antibodies and inmunohistochemical methodology; and by classical histological and histochemical methods.
