Objectives: Beneficial therapeutic effect of probiotics has been reported in children with the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) but not consistently in other functional abdominal pain-related disorders. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 in the treatment of functional abdominal pain (FAP) and IBS in children.

Background: The aim of this study was to determine the role of multichannel intraluminal impedance-pH (pH-MII) monitoring in the diagnosis of gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) in children who presented with gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms in comparison with the results of pH-metry alone and endoscopy.

Methods: All children who underwent pH-MII monitoring due to GI symptoms, suggestive of GERD, from October 2013 to October 2015 in Children's Hospital Zagreb, were retrospectively enrolled in the study. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic disease of the digestive system that occurs in one third of cases in childhood and adolescence. In the majority of patients IBD persists and relapses more or less frequently during their whole life and therefore pediatric patients, at some point, are transferred to the adult health care where autonomy and responsibility are required. Radiation synovectomy (RSIN) with radionuclide combination (N) was performed in 135 patients with rheumatoid arthritis or 417 joints: 155 knee joints (90Y), 230 MCF or PIF joints (169Er), 17 ankle, 7 wrist, 6 elbow and 2 shoulder joints (186Re).
