Purpose: To provide an overview of cluster behavior in dental implant failure including the reported prevalence in modern roughened surface implants as well as the risk factors associated with cluster failures.

Material And Methods: An electronic search for articles in the English language literature published from January 1, 2000, to March 8, 2023, was performed using PubMed, Embase, Dentistry and Oral Sciences, ProQuest, and Central search engines. Using a standardized systematic search process and predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria in three stages, the final list of selected articles reporting on cluster behavior in dental implant failure was obtained.

Assessment of the efficacy of various maxillary molar intrusion therapies: a systematic review.

EMG can be used to estimate motor intent even when an individual cannot physically move due to weakness or paralysis. EMG is traditionally recorded from the extrinsic hand muscles located in the forearm.

Background: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) with C1-inhibitor deficiency (HAE-C1-INH) is characterized by recurrent, debilitating episodes of swelling. Sebetralstat, an investigational oral plasma kallikrein inhibitor, demonstrated promising efficacy for on-demand treatment of HAE-C1-INH in a phase 2 trial. We describe the multipronged approach informing the design of KONFIDENT, a phase 3 randomized, placebo-controlled, three-way crossover trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of sebetralstat in patients aged ≥12 years with HAE-C1-INH.

A Systematic Review of Organizational Assessments Related to Racism and Equity.

This systematic review aimed to assess the following questions: (1) what organizational assessments exist for measuring racism and equity? (2) How are these assessments meant to be completed? (3) What constructs are typically assessed for in these measures? (4) What are the psychometric properties of these measures? Assessments were located by searching PubMed/MEDLINE (including non-MEDLINE and pre-MEDLINE), Scopus, CINAHL Plus with Full Text, PsycInfo, SocIndex, Dissertations & Theses Global, and the Trip Database through June 27, 2022. Cited and citing references of included assessments were also screened. In total, 21 organizational assessments assessing equity, racial equity, health equity, racism, and cultural competency were located.

Successful long-term outcome with radiation and prednisolone following a postoperative feline vertebral angiomatosis relapse.

Case Summary: A 1-year-old male castrated domestic shorthair cat was presented to the Ontario Veterinary College for a week-long history of lethargy and reluctance to walk. CT and MRI revealed a monostotic T5 compressive vertebral lesion that was excised in surgery via pediculectomy. Histology and advanced imaging were consistent with feline vertebral angiomatosis.

Experimental infection of aquatic bird bornavirus 1 in domestic chickens.

Aquatic bird bornavirus 1 (ABBV-1), classified in the Orthobornavirus genus, is a neurotropic virus that infects wild waterfowl causing persistent infection of the nervous system. Given the conspicuous presence of wild waterfowl in urban areas and farmlands, spillover of this virus into domesticated poultry species is a concern. The goal of this study was to test the ability of ABBV-1 to infect and cause disease in chickens.

Transcriptome Analysis of Duck and Chicken Brains Infected with Aquatic Bird Bornavirus-1 (ABBV-1).

Aquatic bird bornavirus 1 (ABBV-1) is a neurotropic virus that infects waterfowls, resulting in persistent infection. Experimental infection showed that both Muscovy ducks and chickens support persistent ABBV-1 infection in the central nervous system (CNS), up to 12 weeks post-infection (wpi), without the development of clinical disease. The aim of the present study was to describe the transcriptomic profiles in the brains of experimentally infected Muscovy ducks and chickens infected with ABBV-1 at 4 and 12 wpi.

Strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions like click chemistry have the potential to be highly scalable, robust, and cost-effective methods for generating small- and large-molecule conjugates for a variety of applications. However, despite method improvements, the rates of copper-based click chemistry reactions continue to be much faster than the rates of copper-free click chemistry reactions, which makes broader deployment of click chemistry challenging from a safety and compatibility standpoint. In this study, we used a zwitterionic detergent, namely, lauryldimethylamine -oxide (LDAO), in a copper-free click chemistry reaction to investigate its impact on the generation of conjugate vaccines (CVs).

Sebetralstat is an investigational oral plasma kallikrein inhibitor for the on-demand treatment of hereditary angioedema. Six healthy male participants received one dose of 600 mg (540 µCi) [C]-sebetralstat. Plasma concentrations of sebetralstat and levels of total radioactivity in plasma, urine, and faeces were determined.

Experimental infection of aquatic bird bornavirus in Muscovy ducks.

Aquatic bird bornavirus (ABBV-1), an avian bornavirus, has been reported in wild waterfowl from North America and Europe that presented with neurological signs and inflammation of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The potential of ABBV-1to infect and cause lesions in commercial waterfowl species is unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the ability of ABBV-1 to infect and cause disease in day-old Muscovy ducks (n = 174), selected as a representative domestic waterfowl.

Is legalization of recreational cannabis associated with levels of use and cannabis use disorder among youth in the United States? A rapid systematic review.

Cannabis legalization policies are rapidly changing in the United States. While there are concerns that recreational legalization will negatively affect young people, previous reviews have not provided clear indication of such effects. The purpose of this rapid systematic review was to examine whether recreational legalization was associated with increases in prevalence of cannabis use and use disorder among adolescents and young adults.

Characteristics of broiler chicken breast myopathies (spaghetti meat, woody breast, white striping) in Ontario, Canada.

Spaghetti meat (SM), woody breast (WB), and white striping (WS) are myopathies affecting breast muscle of broiler chickens, and are characterized by a loss of myofibers and an increase in fibrous tissue. The conditions develop in intensive broiler chicken production systems, and cause poor meat process-ability and negative customer perception leading to monetary losses. The objectives of the present study were to describe the physical and histological characteristics of breast myopathies from commercial broiler chicken flocks in Ontario, Canada, and to assess the associations between the severity of myopathies with the physical and histological characteristics of the affected breast muscle fillets.

Study Design: We searched PubMed/MEDLINE, CINAHL, Scopus, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials for published articles (through November 2019) on pediatric asthma readmission risk factors. Two authors independently screened titles and abstracts and consensus was reached on disagreements.

Despite widespread utilization of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) and the resultant disease reduction, the development of PCVs containing additional serotypes remains a public health priority due to serotype replacement and the resultant shift to non-vaccine containing serotypes. However, incorporating additional serotypes to existing PCVs using conventional technologies has proven problematic. Immune responses to individual serotypes have consistently decreased as more polysaccharide-conjugates are added due to carrier suppression.

Background: The influence of different biological agents on the rate of orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) has been extensively reviewed in animal studies with conflicting results. These findings cannot be extrapolated from animals to humans. Therefore, we aimed to systematically investigate the most up-to-date available evidence of human studies regarding the effect of the administration of different biological substances on the rate of orthodontic tooth movement.
