High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) remains the most common and deadly form of ovarian cancer. However, available cell lines usually fail to appropriately represent its complex molecular and histological features. To overcome this drawback, we established OVAR79, a new cell line derived from the ascitic fluid of a patient with a diagnosis of HGSOC, which adds a unique set of properties to the study of ovarian cancer.

(CJ) is the etiological agent of the world's most common intestinal infectious food-borne disease, ranging from mild symptoms to fatal outcomes. The development of innovative synbiotics that inhibit the adhesion and reproduction of multidrug-resistant (MDR) CJ in animals and humans, thereby preserving intestinal homeostasis, is relevant. We have created a synbiotic based on the consortium of 2029 (LC2029), 7247 (LS7247), and a mannan-rich prebiotic (Actigen).

Objective: Evaluation of structural features and metabolic/biochemical abnormalities of the bone tissue and relevant regulation patterns in children, residing in the radiologically contaminated territories (RCT).

Materials And Methods: Children (n = 148) aged 7 to 18 years old were involved in the study. Bone mineral density (BMD) is given in 3 grades according to the mean square deviation values, namely Grade I - standard (n = 75),Grade II - reduced (n = 45) and Grade III - very low one (n = 28).

Objective: Scientific justification of the methodology for calculating radiation internal doses from 137Cs and 134Cs intake for residents of Ukrainian settlements radioactively contaminated as a result of the Chornobyl (Chernobyl) accident in which measurements of incorporated radiocesium isotopes in humans using whole-body counters (WBC) were not carried out.

Materials And Methods: The paper presents a new methodology for reconstructing doses due to internal irradiation from Chornobyl fallout for both surface (in 1986) and root (in 1987-2023) contamination of vegetation with 137Cs and 134Cs and their transfer into the human body. The methodology for calculating the dose due to surface contamination of vegetation was based on the theoretical model of the transfer of radiocesium isotopes through the food chain with further adjustment of this model to the results of WBC measurements carried out between 15 July and 31 December 1986.

Increased thyroid cancer incidence has been one of the principal adverse health effects of the Chornobyl (Chernobyl) nuclear power plant accident. Accurate dose estimation is critical for assessing the radiation dose-response relationship. Current dosimetry estimates for individuals from the Chornobyl Tissue Bank (CTB) are based only on the limited information on their places of residence at the time of the accident and/or at the time of surgery for thyroid cancer.

In the current work, we aimed to evaluate the association of clinical data of Cushing's disease (CD) patients with mutation status and to study USP8-related molecular mechanisms connected to the regulation of corticotropinoma growth and activity. 35 CD patients were enrolled; the sequencing of exon 14 in revealed variants in eighteen adenomas, two of which were described for the first time in CD. variants were more common in women (94% vs.

Here we explored new 1,5-disubstituted pyrrolidin-2-ones 1, 2 and 5-aryl-3,3,4,5-tetrahydropyrrolo[1,2-]quinoline-1(2)-ones 3 as inhibitors of tubulin polymerization. We evaluated their effects on microtubule dynamics and on the proliferation of A549 cells, using flow cytometry-based cell cycle analysis. The results were verified with phase-contrast microscopy in three cancer cell lines: A549, HeLa and MCF-7.

The global emergence of antibiotic-resistant zooanthroponotic strains, producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL-E) and persisting in the intestines of farm animals, has now led to the development of a pandemic of extra-intestinal infectious diseases in humans. The search for innovative probiotic microorganisms that eliminate ESBL-E from the intestines of humans and animals is relevant. Previously, we received three isolates of bifidobacteria: from milk of a calved cow (BLLT1), feces of a newborn calf (BLLT2) and feces of a three-year-old child who received fresh milk from this calved cow (BLLT3).

Aim: To identify the features of plasma, platelet hemostasis, and proteomic composition of the blood plasma in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and healthy volunteers after COVID-19.

Material And Methods: The study included patients with AMI who have recently had COVID-19 (AMI-post-COVID, n=56) and patients with AMI who have not recently had COVID-19 (AMI-control, n=141). Healthy volunteers constituted the control groups and were also divided into control-post-COVID (n=32) and control-control (n=71) groups.

Here, we present a new approach for the activation of donor-acceptor cyclopropanes in ring-opening reactions, which does not require the use of a Lewis or Brønsted acid as a catalyst. Donor-acceptor cyclopropanes containing a phenolic group as the donor undergo deprotonation and isomerization to form the corresponding quinone methides. This innovative strategy was applied to achieve (4 + 1)-annulation of cyclopropanes with sulfur ylides, affording functionalized dihydrobenzofurans.

Background: The previously underestimated effects of commensal gut microbiota on the human body are increasingly being investigated using omics. The discovery of active molecules of interaction between the microbiota and the host may be an important step towards elucidating the mechanisms of symbiosis.

Results: Here, we show that in the bloodstream of healthy people, there are over 900 peptides that are fragments of proteins from microorganisms which naturally inhabit human biotopes, including the intestinal microbiota.

The main pathophysiological hallmark of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the accumulation of aggregated alpha-synuclein (αSyn). Microglial activation is an early event in PD and may play a key role in pathological αSyn aggregation and transmission, as well as in clearance of αSyn and immunotherapy efficacy. Our aim was to investigate how different proposed mechanisms of anti-αSyn immunotherapy may contribute to pathology reduction in various PD-like mouse models.

The widespread use of the oral poliovaccine from Sabin strains (tOPV) radically reduced poliomyelitis incidence worldwide. However, OPV became a source of neurovirulent vaccine-derived polioviruses (VDPVs). Currently, circulating type 2 VDPVs (cVDPV2) are the leading cause of poliomyelitis.

Biogenic polyamines are ubiquitous compounds. Dysregulation of their metabolism is associated with the development of various pathologies, including cancer, hyperproliferative diseases, and infections. The canonical pathway of polyamine catabolism includes acetylation of spermine and spermidine and subsequent acetylpolyamine oxidase (PAOX)-mediated oxidation of acetylpolyamines (back-conversion) or their direct efflux from the cell.
