Three forms (E1, E2 and E3) of leucyl-tRNA synthetase (LeuRS) were separated by DEAE-cellulose chromatography of total aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases from cow lactating mammary gland. The method of purification of all three components is described. E1 is a dimeric molecule (alpha 2) of molecular weight 182 000.

Two observations of the Far syndrome manifested by calcification of the brain tissue, oligodendroglia, arterial walls, arterioles, capillaries and veins are described. In the first case, the Far syndrome developed against the background of hypoparathyreosis with longterm disturbance of phosphorus-calcium metabolism, in the second--against the background of endocrine polyadenomatosis (trabecular adenoma of the thyroid gland, clear cell adenoma of the adrenals) with hyponatremia.

The distribution of blood groups of the ABO system is different in the rhesus-positive and rhesus-negative subpopulations. An increasing frequency of the phenotype A2 in the rhesus-negative subpopulation is observed. The calculation of the gene frequency reveals a deficiency of genes A1 and O, and the increasing frequency of genes A2 and B in the rhesus-negative part of the population.

Possible applications of magnetic relaxation to the studies of microstructures of water-protein layer of spin-labelled proteins and enzymes are analyzed on lyzozymes taken as an example. It is shown that the effective time of correlation of dipole-dipole interaction of the complex spin label--water proton (Tauc), as well as thermodynamic parameters Eeff. and delta Seff.

Fluorescent and histochemical methods were applied to the study of the morpho-functional condition of the adrenergic and cholinergic nervous system of the bronchopumonary apparatus in guinea pigs under normal conditions and during sensitization (subcutaneous and inhalant) with tick Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus ticks. There was revealed a marked excitation of the adrenergic nervous system, and a reduction of the acetylcholine esterase activity in the bronchopulmonary tissue during the animal sensitization.
