This study developed a novel 3D-printable poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)-based nanocomposite incorporating 6 wt% graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) with programmable characteristics for resistive heating applications. The results highlighted the significant effect of a controlled printing direction (longitudinal, diagonal, and transverse) on the electrical, thermal, Joule heating, and thermo-resistive properties of the printed structures. The 6 wt% GNP/PVDF nanocomposite exhibited a high electrical conductivity of 112 S·m when printed in a longitudinal direction, which decreased significantly in other directions.

The dynamics of nephropathy development in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus, caused by a high-fat diet and the streptozotocin administration (25 mg/kg), and metabolic syndrome, caused by addition of 20% fructose solution to the diet, was evaluated during the experiment. Models with moderate severity of metabolic changes without significant changes in body weight were obtained after 24 weeks. To study neuropathy severity, the method of electroneuromyography was used; the velocities of motor and sensory excitation propagation along the caudal nerve fibers were measured.

We compared 2 models of metabolic syndrome in rats: high-fat diet (58% calories) with single streptozotocin injection at a dose of 25 mg/kg and replacement of water with 20% fructose solution. The model with fructose solution did not cause the main signs of metabolic syndrome over 24 weeks: concentrations of glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, weight, and BP did not significantly differ from the control group (standard diet). At the same time, single streptozotocin administration was followed by the development of persistent hyperglycemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, and signs of visceral obesity.

In recent years, self-healing polymers have emerged as a topic of considerable interest owing to their capability to partially restore material properties and thereby extend the product's lifespan. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the nanoindentation response in terms of hardness, reduced modulus, contact depth, and coefficient of friction of a self-healing resin developed for use in aeronautical and aerospace contexts. To achieve this, the bifunctional epoxy precursor underwent tailored functionalization to improve its toughness, facilitating effective compatibilization with a rubber phase dispersed within the host epoxy resin.

Background: The effect of vitamin A on the manifestations of liver fibrosis is controversial and establishing the causes of its multidirectional influence is an urgent problem. In the work, the functional characteristics of the liver with Cu-induced fibrosis were determined after the restoration of vitamin A to the control level at the F0/F1 stage.

Methods: In animals with liver fibrosis, classical indicators of physiology, functional activity of the liver, histological, and hematological characteristics were determined; the content of calcium and ROS was determined in bone marrow cells.

The standard model axion seesaw Higgs portal inflation (SMASH) model is a well-motivated, self-contained description of particle physics that predicts axion dark matter particles to exist within the mass range of 50 to 200 micro-electron volts. Scanning these masses requires an axion haloscope to operate under a constant magnetic field between 12 and 48 gigahertz. The ORGAN (Oscillating Resonant Group AxioN) experiment (in Perth, Australia) is a microwave cavity axion haloscope that aims to search the majority of the mass range predicted by the SMASH model.
