Objective: The aim: To determine the peculiarities of the response of pulmonary ventilation to hypoxia in elderly people with impaired glucose tolerance.
Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: Forty-three elderly people were examined, including 20 patients with impaired glucose tolerance and 23 healthy individuals with preserved glucose tolerance. Fasting plasma glucose and insulin concentrations were determined, and the HOMA-IR insulin resistance index was calculated.
