Choice of surgical option for lagophthalmos correction (use of encircling allotendinous string or fixation of medial aspect of the lower tarsal plate) in patients with chronic facial palsy is proved. This technique was reinforced with dissection of the tendon or superior tarsal muscle resection and lateral canthopexy. The advantages of surgical methods considering clinical aspects (in particular the degree of medial canthal tendon laxity) are shown.

The study included 21 patients, including 15 patients with facial nerve palsy and 6 with endocrine ophthalmopathy. The gel was injected externally to the levator aponeurosis and/or intramuscular, and/or under the pretarsal portion of the orbicularis oculi muscle, and/or subcutaneously.

Postsurgical interpalpebral fibrous adhesions indicate the advantages of tarsorrhaphy with periosteal fixation over "tongue-in-groove" tarsorrhaphy and suggest its preference for palpebral fissure narrowing and static correction of lagophthalmos.

Complex assessment of analgetic action of the preparation, taking into account the influence of nociceptive processes, basing on investigation of electric cutaneous threshold in various regimens of stimulation in the dermatome incision, was conducted. It was established that under the influence of Movalis the spontaneous and induced pain intensity is lowering due to its action on the processes of primary and secondary hyperalgesia.

Disclosed in the patients were the following points of anisotropia: E18S in the 5th intercostal space along the medioclavicular line on the left, E18D--a symmetric point on the right, R24S in the 3d intercostal space along the parasternal line on the left, R24D--a symmetric point on the right. The value for anisotropia determined by anisotropia factor in decibels will rest with the degree of abnormal changes on the cardiac muscle, which fact has been documented by electrocardiographic findings.

A total of 30 patients were examined divided into six groups according to different functional classes. It is for the first time that anisotropy zones have been identified in IHD patients.

An optoelectron method for detection of vertical obstacles and ground gaps has been proposed. The authors have drawn up the structural and functional diagrams of a device which is combined with a walking-stick and which makes it possible to detect 3 types of pedestrian obstacles with appropriate sound signalling.
