Article Synopsis
  • The paper discusses the creation of different triply doped and Er-doped SiO-TaO glass ceramic nanocomposites and active planar waveguides using the sol-gel process and dip-coating technique.
  • Structural analysis via XRD, AFM, and photoluminescence showed successful integration of L-TaO nanocrystals within the SiO matrix, with varying rare earth ion concentrations affecting crystallinity and film properties.
  • The Er-doped samples exhibited broad near-infrared emissions suitable for telecom applications, with minimal emission quenching observed at low Er concentration, highlighting their potential for use in optical devices.

SigrafW is Windows-compatible software developed using the Microsoft® Visual Basic Studio program that uses the simplified Hill equation for fitting kinetic data from allosteric and Michaelian enzymes. SigrafW uses a modified Fibonacci search to calculate maximal velocity (V), the Hill coefficient (n), and the enzyme-substrate apparent dissociation constant (K). The estimation of V, K, and the sum of the squares of residuals is performed using a Wilkinson nonlinear regression at any Hill coefficient (n).
