Background: We wished to determine if there were differences in pelvic and non-pelvic tenderness between men with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) Type III and men without pelvic pain.
Methods: We performed the Manual Tender Point Survey (MTPS) as described by the American College of Rheumatology on 62 men with CP/CPPS Type IIIA and IIIB and 98 men without pelvic pain. We also assessed tenderness of 10 external pelvic tender points (EPTP) and of 7 internal pelvic tender points (IPTP).
Introduction: : TZT-1027, a derivative of dolastatin-10, has a wide spectrum of in vitro activity against cancer cell lines. We conducted a phase 2 trial of TZT-1027 in patients with previously treated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Patients And Methods: Patients with stage IV or recurrent NSCLC who had received one prior platinum-based chemotherapy regimen were eligible.
Background: We examined toe-spreading ability in subjects with chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) to test the hypothesis that subjects with CPPS could have deficiencies in lower extremity functions innervated by sacral spinal roots.
Methods: Seventy two subjects with CPPS and 98 volunteer controls were examined as part of a larger study on CPPS. All the subjects underwent a detailed urologic and neurological examination including a toe-spreading examination with a quantitative scoring system.

Methods: Random digit dialing was used to select a group of controls aged 40 to 64 years without prostate cancer matched by age with a group of patients with prostate cancer in a study on the epidemiology of prostate cancer. Controls were divided into those who reported a diagnosis of prostatitis (cases) and those who denied ever having had prostatitis (controls).
Purpose: Intravesical potassium chloride has been reported to cause pain in patients with interstitial cystitis and male chronic prostatitis (CP)/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS). We performed the potassium chloride sensitivity test (PST) in subjects with CP/CPPS and healthy men without pelvic pain.

Purpose: Men with chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) type III experience pelvic pain of uncertain etiology. Pain has been attributed to prostatic, bladder and muscular origins. Few studies have documented pelvic and abdominal muscle function in men with CPPS or compared their muscular examination to that of men without pain.

To examine whether prostatic bacteria are more prevalent among patients with chronic pelvic pain syndrome than among those without pelvic pain, we compared 4-glass urine test and prostate biopsy results.
Materials And Methods: A total of 120 patients with types IIIa and IIIb chronic pelvic pain syndrome and 60 asymptomatic controls underwent a standard 4-glass urine test, examination of expressed prostatic secretion leukocytes by hemocytometer and transperineal, digitally guided prostate biopsies.
