Gastric cancer (GC) remains the most common malignant tumor of the gastrointestinal tract and one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including microRNAs (miRNAs), are involved in the pathogenesis and progression of GC and, therefore, may be potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. Our work was aimed at investigating the predicted regulation of by miR-129-5p and miR-3613-3p and the clinical value of their aberrant expression in GC.

Background: The new synthesized water-soluble derivatives of C fullerenes are of a great interest to researchers since they can potentially be promising materials for drug delivery, bioimaging, biosonding, and tissue engineering. Surface functionalization of fullerene derivatives changes their chemical and physical characteristics, increasing their solubility and suitability for different biological systems applications, however, any changes in functionalized fullerenes can modulate their cytotoxicity and antioxidant properties. The toxic or protective effect of fullerene derivatives on cells is realized through the activation or inhibition of genes and proteins of key signaling pathways in cells responsible for regulation of cellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) level, proliferation, and apoptosis.

Photophysical characteristics of both types of complexes were studied in dichloromethane solution. In the solid phase, the binuclear compounds adopt a syn configuration where the {Pt(NNC)} fragments are held together due to intramolecular Pt-Pt bonding and π-stacking of the pincer ligand aromatic systems.

However, the synthesis of most LDHs is reported only by the conventional coprecipitation method, which makes it difficult to control the catalyst's crystallinity. In the present study, ZnCr- and NiCr-LDHs have been successfully prepared using a facile hydrothermal approach.

Previous studies suggest phylogenetic Lineage 1 isolates with the v allele of the gene cause human infections, whereas Lineage 2 isolates with the allele are less pathogenic. Mouse studies suggest that some variants of the primary toxin could drive more serious infections.

Using a comparative genomic approach, we previously identified a novel DNA-binding transcription factor (named HisR) that controls the histidine metabolism genes in diverse Gram-positive bacteria from the Firmicutes phylum.
Results: Here we report the identification of HisR-binding sites within the regulatory regions of the histidine metabolism and transport genes in 395 genomes representing the Bacilli, Clostridia, Negativicutes, and Tissierellia classes of Firmicutes, as well as in 97 other HisR-encoding genomes from the Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, and Synergistetes phyla.
Nowadays, the efficient conversion of plant biomass components (alcohols, carbohydrates, etc.) into more energy-intensive fuels, such as hydrogen, is one of the urgent scientific and technological problems. The present study is the first one focused on the photoinduced hydrogen evolution from aqueous D-glucose and D-xylose using layered perovskite-like oxides HCaNbO, HLaTiO, and their organically modified derivatives that have previously proven themselves as highly active photocatalysts.

As reactive oxygen species homeostasis plays a vital role in cells, the study of their effect on genes involved in oxidative stress and anti-inflammatory responses are of particular importance.
Methods: Human fetal lung fibroblasts were incubated with aqueous dispersions of C, C, and Gd@C in concentrations of 5 nM and 1.
A series of hybrid niobates HCaNbO×RNH, containing -alkylamines (R = Me, Et, Pr, Bu, Hx, Oc) intercalated into the interlayer space, has been thoroughly studied concerning the photocatalytic hydrogen production from a model aqueous solution of methanol for the first time. All the hybrid photocatalysts were synthesized by the conventional ceramic technique followed by protonation and intercalation of -alkylamines. The products were characterized using XRD, Raman, IR and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, TGA, CHN-analysis and SEM.

The hybrid photocatalyst HNdTiO×BuNH was synthesized by solid-state ceramic method followed by protonation, intercalation of methylamine and subsequent substitution by -butylamine. The product was characterized by powder XRD, TGA, STA-MS, DRS, IR, and Raman spectroscopy, CHN analysis, SEM.

When hydrogen is charged, it first suppresses the transformations B2↔B19' and R↔B19' in the surface layer, and when its distribution over the volume becomes uniform, such transformations are suppressed throughout the material. The kinetics of hydrogen redistribution is determined by the hydrogen diffusion coefficient D, which depends on the grain size.
