Majorana's approach to nonadiabatic transitions validates the adiabatic-impulse approximation.

The approach by Ettore Majorana for non-adiabatic transitions between two quasi-crossing levels is revisited and significantly extended. We rederive the transition probability, known as the Landau-Zener-Stückelberg-Majorana formula, and introduce Majorana's approach to modern readers. This result, typically referred as the Landau-Zener formula, was published by Majorana before Landau, Zener and Stückelberg.

Predicting asphaltene onset pressure (AOP) and bubble point pressure (Pb) is essential for optimization of gas injection for enhanced oil recovery. Pressure-Volume-Temperature or PVT studies along with equations of state (EoSs) are widely used to predict AOP and Pb. However, PVT experiments are costly and time-consuming.

[Age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye lesion. Socio-economic aspects].

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) comprise a significant socio-medical problem for Russia. The article presents an analysis aimed at identifying the prerequisites for further research on the socio-economic consequences of retinal pathology. Studying the epidemiological aspects of DR and AMD, as well as the conditions for receiving medical aid helped define the main approaches to assessing the economic burden of retinal diseases in Russia.

Simulating quantum dynamical phenomena using classical oscillators: Landau-Zener-Stückelberg-Majorana interferometry, latching modulation, and motional averaging.

A quantum system can be driven by either sinusoidal, rectangular, or noisy signals. In the literature, these regimes are referred to as Landau-Zener-Stückelberg-Majorana (LZSM) interferometry, latching modulation, and motional averaging, respectively. We demonstrate that these pronounced and interesting effects are also inherent in the dynamics of classical two-state systems.

Snap-through transition of buckled graphene membranes for memcapacitor applications.

Using computational and theoretical approaches, we investigate the snap-through transition of buckled graphene membranes. Our main interest is related to the possibility of using the buckled membrane as a plate of capacitor with memory (memcapacitor). For this purpose, we performed molecular-dynamics (MD) simulations and elasticity theory calculations of the up-to-down and down-to-up snap-through transitions for membranes of several sizes.

6-8% of infants have food hypersensitivity or allergy that often manifest as atopic dermatitis. Formation of intestinal microbiocenosis is occurring during the same age range. There are some research data about the influence of probiotic on clinical course of atopic dermatitis.

Analysis of clinical experience of using formula nutrilon for bottle feeding of the first year of life in Ukraine.

The article describes some current issues of bottle feeding of first year children. Human milk oligosaccharides play an important role in postnatal development of the intestinal flora and development of protective functions of child's organism. Dietary modulation of the intestinal microflora and immune response is one of the important problems in the nutritional sciences today.

Comparative efficiency of diagnostics and treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection in children.

The prevalence of chronic gastroenterological diseases among schoolchildren is high and the incidence of those diseases is growing up. The article is devoted to study of diagnostic, clinical features of Helicobacter pylori associated chronic diseases of upper digestive tract in children. With a help of screening-questioning of school children the age prevalence of main, gastroduodenal-specific complaints has been determined, their social and everyday life peculiarities have been investigated.
