The lipid composition of fluorescent vibrios, V. eltor and nonagglutinating vibrios has been studied. In the fraction of polar lipids phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol and cardiolipin and in the fraction of neutral lipids monoglycerides, free fatty acids, diglycerides, triglycerides, sterol esters have been identified.

The object of the study was plasma from healthy subjects and 4 groups of patients with cardiovascular diseases: 1) large myocardial infarction; 2) resting and exercise-induced angina pectoris; 3) large myocardial infarction; and 4) recurrent myocardial infarction. The levels of plasma free PUFA were measured by gas chromatography.

NEFA extraction coefficients were shown to be basically different in these two groups of patients, possible evidence of disturbed lipid metabolism in coronary disease.
