[Molecular genetic characteristics of tick-borne encephalitis virus in the crimea].

[Ultrastructural organization of carcinoma Lewis (3LL) cells during cisplatin resistance formation].

The electron-microscopic analysis of the morphological status of 3LL (Lewis) carcinoma tumour cells in the process of cisplatin resistant phenotype formation has been performed. It was shown that selection of tumour cells forming cell clones characterized by more complicated nuclear and cytoplasm organization took place. The tumour cells had the diffused nuclear chromatin; nuclear envelope had the numerous pores with expanded diaphragms.

[Use of WOBE-MUGOS E for prevention and correction of experimental doxorubicin side-effects].

Examined in treating rats with Guerin's carcinoma with doxorubicin was the possibility that the polyenzymic drug preparation wobe-mugos E had hepatoprotective, cardioprotective and myeloprotective effects. In intramuscular administration wobe-mugos E has not been found to stimulate the tumour growth, it exhibited a manifest hepatoprotective and myeloprotective actions with respect to adverse reactions of doxorubicin but failed to diminish cardiotoxicity of the latter. The protective effect of the above polyenzymic drug was of a dose-dependent character.

[The enterosorbents belosorb and panzysorb in the treatment of acute experimental pancreatitis in rats].

Enterosorption with highly dispersed fibrous carbon adsorbent Belosorb or enzyme-containing fibrous carbon adsorbent Panzysorb was applied for the treatment of experimental acute pancreatitis (EAP) in the rats. Panzysorb was obtained by immobilization of digestive hydrolases (proteases and amylase) on Belosorb as matrix. It was shown that oral administration of Panzysorb (100 mg/kg body weight) significantly decreased amylolytic and lipolytic activity of blood serum by the third hour after EAP induction.

[Aggressive fibromatosis of the small pelvis].

Experience in the treatment of 25 patients with aggressive fibromatosis of the true pelvis is discussed. To establish a precise diagnosis obligatory and special methods of examination were applied. Secondary changes in the adjacent organs and structures were found in 24 patients.

[Current theories on the origin of Reed-Sternberg cells in lymphogranulomatosis].

The literature data and the results of the authors' own investigations on the enzymatocytochemical signs, surface membrane receptors and antigens of Hodgkin's and Reed-Sternberg cells have been presented. Possible genesis of giant multinuclear cells from activated T- or B-lymphocytes, histiocytes,+-macrophages or interdigitirring reticular cells in lymphogranulomatosis have been discussed.

[The role of intracellular processes in regulating neuronal sensitivity to acetylcholine].

[Monoclonal antibodies of the IPO series in studying and diagnosing malignant lymphoproliferative diseases].

The authors have developed a panel of monoclonal antibodies (MCA) of IPO series (Institute of Problems of Oncology, Kiev). RPMI-1788 cell line, Daudi, as well as splenocytes of a patient with hairy-cell leukemia were used for immunization of mice. It has been shown that IPO-3, IPO-10 and IPO-24 MCA are directed against differentiation antigens of human B-lymphocytes.

[Monoclonal antibodies IPO-4 recognizing antigen-activated human T and B lymphocytes].

Spleen cells from BALB/c mice previously immunized with B-lymphoblastoid cell line RPMI-1788 were fused with P3-X-63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells. Monoclonal antibodies (Ab) IPO-4 were screened on 18 cell lines by the indirect immuno-fluorescence method.

[Morphocytochemical and electron microscopic research on murine hybridoma cells producing and not producing monoclonal antibodies].

Cytochemical and ultrastructural features of mouse hybridomas and also of the parental cells--myeloma P3-X63-Ag8.653 and spleen cells of the Balb/c mice immunized with cell line RPMI-1788 have been studied. Differences in cytomorphological signs and activity of acid phosphatase, acid nonspecific esterase, nonspecific-alpha-naphthyl acetate esterase were shown in hybrid cell lines secreting and not secreting monoclonal antibodies.

[Immunological and electron microscope characteristics of peripheral blood lymphocytes in myeloma disease].

B-lymphocytes of peripheral blood were examined with cytochemical, immunological and electron-microscopic methods in 18 patients with myeloma. The results made it possible to divide all patients into 3 groups distinguishing by cytomorphology of peripheral blood lymphocytes, expression of surface and cytoplasmic immunoglobulins and determination on the surface membrane of receptors to Fc-fragments of IgG and IgM and C3-component of the complement. Data revealed clonal character of B-lymphocytes.

[Evaluation of the distribution of lectin receptors on the surface of tumor and transformed cells using methods of variation statistics].

Statistical procedures were used to estimate lectin receptor distribution on the surface of ascite lymphoma cells, neuroblastoma C-1300 cells and of transformed human T- and B-derived lymphoid cell lines. Relationships between the arithmetic means and mean square variances for sample populations from each cell and ferritin- or colloidal gold-lectin combination were used to define four types of topographical distributions: uniform-ordered, uniform-random, random and clustered.

[Changes in the acetylcholine responses of perfused neurons of Limnaea stagnalis during internal and external exposure of the cell].

The modifying effect of extra- and intracellular administration of serotonin on inward currents generated by the cell at extracellular application of acetylcholine was studied. The study was made on nonidentified isolated neurons of the fresh water mollusc Lymnaea stagnalis using the voltage-clamp and intracellular perfusion methods. In roughly a half of the studied cells serotonin being added intra- and extracellularly produced a decrease in the response to acetylcholine.

[Ultrastructural organization of the blood lymphoid cells in hairy cell leukemia].

The cytochemical, immunological, and ultrastructural peculiarities of the hairy-cell leukemia cells are studied. The hairy cells can be identified by characteristic of ultrastructure of organellae: numerous thin processes on the plasma membrane, large cytoplasmic area, well developed granular endoplasmic reticulum, numerous vesicules and electron dense granules, a well differentiated lobulated nucleus with a large nucleolus in which the granular component predominates.

[Cell surface receptors in lymphoid lines studied using lectins].

The nature and distribution of some carbohydrate receptors on the cell membrane of transformed human B- and T-derived lymphocyte cell lines (RPMI-1788, Daudi, Jurkat, Molt-4) are studied by Ricinus communis agglutinin, soybean agglutinin, Helix pomatia lectin, peanut agglutinin and wheat germ agglutinin conjugated with ferritin and colloidal gold. The quality of receptors and the manner of their distribution detected by different lectins are considerably different.

[2 Phases of the inotropic action of adrenaline. Calcium dependence].

The biphasic inotropic effect of adrenaline administered for a long time (30 min) was studied on a frog ventricular strip. The fall in the contraction amplitude got more pronounced as the intensity of Ca ions entrance into the myocardial cells was potentiated by the increased frequency of stimulation and calcium or adrenaline concentrations were raised. The mechanisms of the adrenaline-induced decrease in the contraction amplitude are discussed.

[Effect of cadmium on electromechanical coupling in the frog myocardium].
