This paper is a review of the recent literature data related to structure, composition and physico-chemical properties of starches as well as the special methods of processing of the starch containing raw sources producing the food products with increasing content of resistant starches. The prognosis is made about usefulness of such resistant starches for control of some metabolic disorder in human organism and for prophylactic aims.

AntiH+/K+-ATPhase antibodies of gastric parietal cells, anti-EBV antibodies IgG EA and IgM VCA were determined with the help of immune-enzyme analysis methods. Interregional hospital attached to administration of prisons renders specialized care to prisoners. Anonymous sociological questionnaires distributed among 815 patients treated at the hospital showed that the patients were satisfied with organization of medical care and communal provision and demonstrated serious problems in organization of hospital care rendered to prisoners.

Relation between the level of cortisol in the blood plasma and sex, age form and duration of the disease, indices of the clinical, laboratory and immunological activity, the nature of roentgenological changes in the joints and therapy was analysed. A decrease in the glucocorticoid function of the adrenal cortex correlated with the severity of the clinical forms and duration of the disease, being especially manifest in children of younger age.

It was found that the maternity instinct is inborn but it starts to show only during the second year of life and is manifested in the form of playing with dolls and reaches its peak at the age of 3-5 years. A study was made of 310 families having children with congenital developmental defects of peripheral vessels. The birth of a child with developmental pathology of peripheral vessels has a significant effect on demographic behaviour of the family, causing the limitation in further childbirth and leading to substantial worsening of relations between parents. It was found that the level of seeking medico-genetic care was extremely low and there was no proper control on the part of obstetrician-gynaecologists and district paediatricians.
