Aim: Evaluate reactogenicity, safety and immunogenicity in phase 2 clinical trials of 2 immunization schedules with Ultragrivac--an allantoic intranasal life influenza vaccine based on A/17/ duck/Potsdam/86/92 [17/H5] reassortant strain.
Materials And Methods: 4 groups of volunteers participated in the study: group 1--40 individuals were vaccinated twice with a 10 day interval; group 2--40 individuals were vaccinated twice with a 21 day interval; group 3 (control)--10 individuals received placebo twice with a 10 day interval; group 4 (control)--10 individuals received placebo twice with a 21 day interval. Local (secretory IgA), cellular and humoral immune response were evaluated.
Results of phase II of a clinical trial of the influenza allantoic intranasal live vaccine "Ultragrivac" (type A/H5N2) are presented. The vaccine was developed based on strain /17/Duck/Potsdam/86/92 H5N2 [17/H5] - reassortant of two viruses, /Leningrad/134/17/57 (H2N2) and /Duck/Potsdam/1402-86 (H5N2), obtained from the Virology Department, St. Petersburg Institute of Experimental Medicine.

Sera from 189 cubs of eared seals from different rookeries and regions. It has been shown that 10-22% of cubs living on Russian coast have antibodies to such dangerous diseases as morbillivirus infection, brucellosis, and toxoplasmosis.

The findings of the decreased rate of a tuberculous process and on the increased mean life span in animals inoculated with M. bovis suggest that immunization of guinea-pigs with mycobacterial particles promotes the enhanced development of antituberculous immunity in the animals.

The levels of IgG and IgM antibodies to different mycobacterial antigens were studied in patients with varying pulmonary tuberculosis. The higher levels of IgG and IgM to the used antibodies were simultaneously found in patients with infiltrative tuberculosis as compared with healthy individuals. As compared to patients with fibrocavernous pulmonary tuberculosis, those with infiltrative tuberculosis had significantly lower levels of IgG antibodies to BGC sonicate and protein with a molecular weight of 40-70 kD isolated from the strain H37Rv.

In this study, allele and haplotype frequencies of the polymorphism examined were assessed in a number of Caucasoid and Mongoloid populations of Russia. In all populations tested, relatively high prevalence of the deletion-bearing allele, ranging from 9.

Antigen and antibody detection in EIA is a good tool in diagnosing HAV infections, especially in their differentiation from other hepatitides. Commercial kits containing polyclonal antibodies and murine MAbs to identify HAV are now available. Rat MAbs have not been assayed so far.
