[The forensic medical assessment of tanatogenesis in the victims of a mechanical and thermal injury].

This paper presents the data on tanatogenesis and pathomorphological changes in the patients suffering mechanical and thermal injuries arranged according to their duration (from 1 day to 2 months). The study included 65 deceased men and 25 women at the age from 15 to 89 years. The results obtained allowed to identify the immediate causes of death from the traumas of different origin.

[Analysis of post-traumatic lethal outcomes among patients who died in Astrakhan hospitals (based on materials of the Astrakhan regional forensic medical bureau)].

The author analyses lethal outcomes of mechanical injuries registered in medical and preventive facilities of the city of Astrakhan depending on the victim's age, sex, duration of hospital stay, definitive clinical and forensic medical diagnosis. The lethal outcome was used as a quality-of-medical-care endpoint. The analysis included materials of the Astrakhan regional forensic medical bureau for the period from 1990 till 1999.
