[The role of double-ballon enteroscopy in diagnosis and treatment of polypoid syndromes of gastrointestinal tract].

It was done 192 double-ballon enteroscopies in 141 patients at the period from March 2009 to March 2012. Epithelial benign tumors were detected in 10 (7.1%) patients with congenital polypoid syndromes.

[Choice of the method of surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis].

An analysis of surgical treatment of 187 patients with chronic pancreatitis was made during 3-year period in the department of surgery clinic of Byelorussian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education. Drainage operations were performed on 28 patients, resection-drainage operations were carried out on 130 patients and resection operations had 19 patients. The laser beam technologies were successfully applied during operations on the pancreas in 43 patients.

[Congenital anomalies of the inferior vena cava: diagnosis and medical treatment].

Analyzed herein are the findings obtained following an examination and medical treatment of five 17-to-39-year-old male patients (average age 25.0+/-1.83 years) presenting with congenital abnormalities of the inferior vena cava.

[Embryogenetic malformations of the inferior vena cava, and their manifestations in adults].

Five male patients with congenital anomalies of the inferior vena cava aged 20 to 43 were examined. The diagnosis and the level of aplasia were established on the basis of complex instrumental examination (duplex scanning of inferior extremity veins, pelvic veins, and retroperitoneal veins; computed and magnetic resonance tomography of the abdominal cavity; pelvic phlebography; retrograde cavagraphy). Together with inferior vena cava anomalies, other malformations such as pulmonary arterial stenosis or duplication of renal collector system were diagnosed in two patients.

[Experimental evaluation of Vitaflon grafts in the venous position].

To examine the possibilities of replacing the great veins by Vitaflon grafts, an experimental study was made on 20 dogs. In the first group animals (n=10), a segment of the infrarenal posterior vena cava was replaced under conditions of routine blood flow. In the second group (n=10), an arteriovenous fistula closed after one month was formed on the thigh.

[Deep vein thrombosis as the manifestation of congenital anomaly of inferior vena cava].
