Comparative value of minute flow volume measurement by radiocardiography, echocardiography, tetrapolar chest rheography and ultrasonic impulse doppler flowmetry was assessed in 30 individuals. Radiocardiography was often associated with overstated values and could not be used for minute volume monitoring. Tetrapolar chest rheography was also associated with overstated values in cases of left-ventricular insufficiency, and inadequately overstated values in 6% of normal subjects and understated values in 1%.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe authors examined 33 coronary heart disease patients with the syndrome of pacemaker weakness (SPW) aged 54 to 82 years. In 18 of the patients the clinical and electrocardiographic manifestations of the SPW were intermittent and appeared simultaneously with exacerbation of coronary heart disease. Patients with the SPW but without a history of myocardial lesions displayed the hyperdynamic type of the circulation.
