[The role of ceruloplasmin in neoplastic processes].

Ceruloplasmin (CP) is a copper containing oxidase of human plasma alpha 2-globulin fraction. The review summarizes literature data on biological role of CP under normal conditions and during development of malignant tumor. This protein may be involved both into antitumor deference and also into metastasizing process.

[Regulation of ceruloplasmin activity in oncogynecological diseases].

Serum ceruloplasmih (CP) and anti-CP antibody levels were studied by the oxidase method in 18 healthy women and in 86 women with gynecological tumors. The results demonstrate that: 1) Serum CP concentrations increased in endometrial and ovarian cancer, in benign ovarian tumors and to a lesser extent in mioma of uterus. 2) Serum CP antibodies were found out in both benign tumors and cancer cases.
