The lymphocyte membrane fluidity, membrane potential, isoenzyme spectrum of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catabolic product level of blood cell receptors in rats, healthy volunteers and patients with ovary and skin tumors were studied under the influence of low frequency electromagnetic field (EMF). The increase of fluidity of rat blood lymphocyte membranes was observed at 20 and 40 min exposure of the lymphocyte suspension to EMF. The increase of ANS fluorescence observed after 20 min exposure to EMF suggested a decrease of cell membrane potential.

Lymphocyte and erythrocyte membrane microviscosites of lipid-protein contact zones and lipid bilayer in blood of patients with gastric, urinary bladder and ovary cancers were investigated in comparison with healthy volunteers by means of coefficients of eximerization of fluorescent probe pyrene. The decrease of membrane fluidity (i.e.

Experiments on albino male rats have shown that the endoliquor administration of estrogens at low doses results in the inhibition of proliferative processes in the prostatic tissues comparable with that observed at the administration of doses two orders larger, and at the subcutaneous administration. A study of the possible mechanism of the observed phenomenon has shown that this effect is associated with the fact that in such a way of estrogen administration conditions are created for deeper inhibition of the production of gonadotropins by the adenohypophysis, and as a result of it a decrease in the androgen level is observed leading to the inhibition of proliferative processes in the prostatic tissues.

The property of methandrostenolone, a synthetic male hormone, as a stimulator of proliferative activity of tumour cells was studied in experimental analyses, conducted on the transplanted culture of HEP-2 cells and on xenografts of the human larynx cancer cultured in diffusive chambers. This property of the hormone was used to increase the sensitivity of human laryngeal tumour, to ionizing emission. The morphological study of histological specimens prepared from xenografts and histological specimens of patients with laryngeal tumour, who received preoperative distant gamma-therapy against a background of the methadrostenolone use, gave the results which allow recommending this hormone to be used during radiotherapy of patients with the laryngeal cancer.

The effect of high (50 micrograms) and low (2.5 micrograms) doses of diethylstilbestrol propionate (DES) oil solution injected into the CSF and intramuscularly was studied on non-inbred albino male rats. The drug was administered four times with 5 to 6 days' intervals.

A comparative study of labelled thyroxine and iodine accumulation was carried out in the thyroid endocrine complex under endoliquor and intraabdominal introduction of thyrotropic hormone (TTH) and thyrotropin-releasing-factor (TRF) in rats with transplantable and induced tumours as well as in intact animals. A sharp decrease of the system response to TRF in tumour-bearing animals was established. The incorporation of labelled thyroxine introduced into the thyroid gland tissue and posterior region of the hypothalamus is found to be lower under the tumour growth.

The distribution of 125I-FSH and LH was studied in albino rats with the ovary, denervated under the action of 7% phenol and autotransplanted into the spleen of sterilized animals. A decrease in FSH inclusion was seen in both cases, being 0.74% (3.

A combination therapy consisting of two endolymphic infusions of BCG vaccine and methotrexate followed by remote gamma therapy 10 days after the second infusion was given to 96 patients with stage III esophageal tumors. Complete response was observed in 64.4 and partial--in 33.

Experiments were conducted on rats. The effects of hormones administered into the IV ventricle (central action) and intramuscularly (peripheral action) were compared. In studying the excitability of the hypothalamus, gonadotropic activity of the hypophysis, the structure of the adenohypophysis and the ovaries, and also of the homeostatic mechanisms realizable in compensatory hypertrophy of the ovaries there were revealed significant differences in the results of action of the same hormone with different methods of its administration.

In the gynecological department of Rostov Oncological Institute endolymphatic polychemotherapy with a preliminary determination of tumor sensitivity to chemotherapy was employed in 54 patients with cervical cancer, 3 of them in stage III and IV having contraindications to radiotherapy. A combination of chemical substances and the dosage of single administration were as follows: thio-TEPA--100--150 mg + methotrexate 75--100 mg; thio-TEPA--100--150 mg + 5-fluoruracil--1000 mg; cyclophosphane--2000 mg + methotrexate--75--100 mg; cyclophosphane--1600 mg + methotrexate--75--100 mg + 5-fluoruracil--750 mg. Lymphoinfusion was made in the lower extremity, and after 7--10 days it was repeated in the second one.
