[Trends in infant mortality in the USSR during the 1970s and 1980s].

The dynamics of rates and pattern of causes of infant deaths in the USSR in 1970s and 1980s is analysed. The rise in infant mortality in 1970s can be to a large extent attributed to a more complete registration of infant deaths. Endogenous causes occupy a dominant place in the pattern of causes of infant mortality in the region of its low and middle level.
