We study the polarization of particles in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at very high energy along the beam direction within a relativistic hydrodynamic framework. We show that this component of the polarization decreases much slower with center-of-mass energy compared to the transverse component, even in the ideal longitudinal boost-invariant scenario with nonfluctuating initial state, and that it can be measured by taking advantage of its quadrupole structure in the transverse momentum plane. In the ideal longitudinal boost-invariant scenario, the polarization is proportional to the gradient of temperature at the hadronization and its measurement can provide important information about the cooling rate of the quark-gluon plasma around the critical temperature.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of anxiety on pulmonary function parameters and respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) in healthy people under real-life conditions. This study consisted of two interrelated parts. During the first stage, eighty healthy students were examined in the following sequence: recording of heart rate variability (HRV) and respiration parameters at rest and shortly before real life stress.

We show that a fluid dynamical scenario, already well tested against identified particle p(t) spectra, describes quantitatively the observed mass splitting of the elliptical flow coefficients v(2) for pions and protons. This provides a strong argument in favor of the existence of a fluid dynamical expansion in p-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV.

Resistance of three materials, produced on the basis of concrete compounds to the action of microscopic fungi, isolated from damaged living buildings, has been first investigated. It has been shown that samples of froth-block and thermoeffective block had low fungal resistance, in contrast to samples of cellular polystyrene concrete, which were resistant to fungal action, that can be associated with peculiarities of their component composition.

Complementary interaction between the AGAMOUS and PINOID/ABRUPTUS genes was revealed. In double mutant abr ag-1, there is a significant increasing proliferation of cells of the floral meristem and formation of branching bine-like flowers. This data indicate the participation of the PID/ABR gene in limitation of proliferating stem cells of the floral meristem.

One of the most important experimental results for proton-proton scattering at the LHC is the observation of a so-called "ridge" structure in the two-particle correlation function versus the pseudorapidity difference Δη and the azimuthal angle difference Δφ. One finds a strong correlation around Δφ=0, extended over many units in Δη. We show that a hydrodynamical expansion based on flux tube initial conditions leads in a natural way to the observed structure.

The features of radial growth of three microscopic fungi species were investigated at illumination by yellow, blue, green and red light. The studied species of fungi differed by isolation site (some of them were isolated from the places of high radioactive pollution, others--from the places with background level of radioactivity) and pigmentation degree (melanin-containing and light-colored). The parameters of radial growth, which are the integral indexes of the fungal organism physiology state were investigated: radial growth rate, branching degree and summarizing index--the intensity of substrate consumption.

120 patients with primary or recurrent soft tissue sarcomas were treated during 1995-2010 years. Analysis of clinical materials allowed singling out most frequent mistakes in diagnostics and treatment that had been made in 52 (43%) patients. High frequency of mistakes caused by rarity of disease, complexity in diagnostics and choice of adequate treatment tactics demands the necessity to concentrate these patients in medical institutions that specialize in treatment of soft tissue sarcomas.

23 patients with malignant tumors of the thoracic wall, invading bone structures, were operated in the period of 2005-2009 years. Thoracic wall reconstruction was performed in 20 (77%) of patients. The type of the reconstruction was defined by tumor localization, volume of resection, anatomic features of transplantational tissue flaps.

Plant morphology was analyzed in the abr and ap1-1 single mutants, the abr ap1-1 double mutant, and abr mutant plants with extopic expression of the AP1 gene under the control of the 35S RNA constitutive promoter of the cauliflower mosaic virus (abr 35S::AP1). The level of AP1 gene expression was examined in wildtype plants and the abr mutant. The ABR gene was found to interact with the AP1 via dominant epistasis when determining the time of a transition to the reproductive developmental stage and the floral meristem identity.

Functional states were studied in students in the intersession period and just before exams. It was found that there was an increase in markers of sympathetic activity and a reduction in markers of parasympathetic tone of the autonomic nervous system. A considerable individual variability in the pattern of a reaction was revealed in relation to the body mass index in students.

Analytical procedures for the detection of certain local anesthetics (including lidocaine, trimecaine, articaine, and anilocaine) in blood and urine are described with special reference to their application in chemotoxicological studies. The description is focused on the methods for isolation of the assay preparations from biological fluids and their identification with the help of up-to-date chromatographic techniques, such as thin layer chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, and gas-liquid chromatography.

The data of the research of age features of oxidation system in dogs are given in the article. As a result, standards on content of lipid peroxidation products in blood in dogs of different age, as well as concentration of antioxidants and activity of enzyme antioxidants have been detected. These data give the assumption that the intensive aging starts from the age of 7 in dogs of large breeds, which indicates to possible correction of age-related changes in this very age.

The purpose of the present study was to determine whether there is a menstrual cycle effect on heart rate, blood pressure and heart rate variability. 10 healthy regularly cycling females (age 19-23 years) were studied during the follicular phase and luteal phase over two month. We found significant changes in heart rate, AMo and stress index during the menstrual cycle with a minimum in the follicular phase and maximum in the luteal phase.

The effect of hydrogen peroxide ( 10(-9)-10(-1) M) on the mycelial growth of the fungi Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Mucor hiemalis, and Paecilomyces lilacinus has been studied. The growth of fungi isolated from habitats with a background level of radioactive contamination was stopped by H2O2 concentrations equal to 10(-3) and 10(-2) M, whereas the growth of fungi that were isolated from habitats with high levels of radioactive contamination was only arrested by 10(-1) M H2O2. The response of the different fungi to hydrogen peroxide was of three types: (1) a constant growth rate of fungal hyphae at H2O2 concentrations between 10(-9) and 10(-4) M and a decrease in this rate at 10(-3) M H2O2, (2) a gradual decrease in the growth rate as the H2O2 concentration was increased, and (3) an increase in the growth rate as the H2O2 concentration was increased from 10(-7) to 10(2)-5 M.

Surgery for pathological fracture of long tubular bones associated with metastatic cancer was given to 77 patients (1993-2000): segmental resection with endoprosthetic replacement - 26; intramedullary osteosynthesis - 17; perosseous extrafocal osteosynthesis - 34. No intraoperative complication was reported. Infection-related postoperative complications, mainly in perosseous osteosynthesis, developed in 5 (7%).

The results of surgical treatment of 600 patients with rectal fistula were analyzed. Intrasphincter fistula was observed in 204 patients (34%), transsphinctered fistula--in 72 patients (12%), extrasphincter fistula--in 324 patients (54%). In order to decrease the rate of recurrence of fistula, during performance of plastics of internal hole of the fistula the graft of all the wall of rectum (not only its mucosa) was mobilized up to the level of anal sphincter.
