[The role of the Russian Surgery Research Center, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, in the postgraduate training of medical staff].

The paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the experience gained by the Russian Surgery Research Center over 40 years in improving the qualification of physicians and middle-level medical workers. It outlines teaching methods, shows the efficiency of flexible and mobile technologies in improving the qualification of medical staff, which are based on an individual differential approach to each student and which are oriented to satisfy the needs of a specific health care facility that has sent a specialist to be trained, provides evidence for that it is expedient and effective to improve the qualification of medical staff on the basis of a research institution, by taking into account the fact that the students will introduce new methods and technologies into practical public health care.

[Conservation of the lung in the course of 2 to 24 hours with delayed autotransplantation in the experiment].

Opportunities of preservation of the lung at +4 degrees C and in association of this temperature with hyperbaric oxygenation during 2 and 24 hours with postponed autotransplantation have been studied. In 74 experiments on dogs postponed autotransplantation of the lung was performed, including 46--with preservation during 2 hours, and 28--with preservation during 24 hours. Based on the studies carried out, it was found that in preservation of the lung during 2 hours at +4 degrees C or in association of +4 degrees C and hyperbaric oxygenation the lung could be successfully employed for postponed autotransplantation.

[Roentgeno-bronchological observations in experimental autotransplantation of the lung and its lobe].

Roentgenological studies were conducted after 260 autotransplantations of the lung and its lobe, performed experimentally and observed in dynamics during the period up to 4.5 years. Following autotransplantation of the lung in an uncomplicated postoperative period within the terms up to 15 days an intensified and indistinct pulmonary pattern with the presence of small-foci shadows is observed.
