The effect of thymalin on peroxidation of lipids in thyroidectomized rats that received thyroxin at a dose 2 mg/ kg was examined. It was found that 3 months after operation a decrease in body weight (over 2 times), weight of spleen and amount of cells in it took place. An increase of TB-activated products in livers and spleens of thyroidectomized rats 3 month later was not essential.

It is found that 3 months after removal of thyroid gland in rats, a suppression of thymic endocrine function, loss of weight and cellularity occurs. These changes are mainly caused by a weakening of index of proliferative activity. In animals that postoperatively received substitutive thyroxin hormonotherapy and courses of thymulin these disorders don't occur or they are not expressed significantly.

Due to disorders of hormonal balance in the organism, a decrease in thymic endocrine function occurred in rats after thyroidectomy. After removing the thyroid gland, we observed 1,3-2,2-fold decrease in the level of thymic hormone thymulin in the blood serum. When thyroxin was applied at a suppressive dose, endocrine function of the thymus did not restore.

In the livers and spleens of pseudoectomized, thymectomized, thymthyroidectomized mice and thyroidectomized rats there is clear regularity in the change of lipid peroxidation intensity antioxidant system and enzymes activity depending on the severity and duration of pathologic changes occurred in organism and biological significance of the removed endocrine glands in maintenance of homeostasis. Thymostimulin and thyroxin do not render a direct effect on the intensity of lipid peroxidation, but their injection to the thyroidectomized rats indirectly normalizes content of peroxidant products in tissues of liver and spleen and restores disordered metabolism processes as a result of thyroid gland ectomia.

Application of nonspecific active immunotherapy in the treatment of 59 radically operated patients with pulmonary cancer had permitted in brief period of time to restore quantitative and functional indexes of cellular link of immunity, had promoted noncomplicated course of postoperative period, the reduction of the postoperative complications frequency and improvement of late follow-up results of surgical treatment of the patients in the absence of metastases in regional lymphatic nodes.
