[Modern aspects of diagnostic and treatment of Barretts esophagus].

In this paper the modern aspects of diagnostic, treatment and management of Barretts esophagus are presented. It has concluded that the most effective strategy for management of Barretts esophagus is long-term use of modern PPI, endoscopical and histological control.

[Methods of Barrett disease diagnostics].

Chromoesophagoscopy and photodynamic diagnosis are objective methods for diagnostic Barrett disease. Those methods can give us more detailed information about morphological changes in mucosa of esophagus.

[Selection of methods of reconstructive operations in surgical treatment of unspecific ulcerative colitis].

Chromocolonoscopic diagnostics in recognizing of displastics lisions of mucosa is described in the article. The indications for different methods of reconstructive operations are presented.

[Helicobacter pylori prevalence among patients with gastroduodenal diseases in Kiev].

It is for the first time in Ukraine that a study has been made on the epidemiology of H. pylori infection among patients with disorders of the stomach and duodenum. The diagnosis of the infection was done with the aid of various invasive and noninvasive tests, 13C-urea breathing test, a unique for Ukraine and countries of the Western Europe method of examination included.

[The use of millimeter-range electromagnetic radiation for treating peptic ulcer].

The efficacy was studied of treatment of ulcer disease by means of microwave resonance radiation. It was established that this method of treatment has advantages over traditional drug therapy in patients harbouring the ulcer in the duodenum. The authors describe contraindications to the use of this method, determine the duration of treatment.

[Diagnostic possibilities of roentgeno-endoscopic and morphologic methods of examining the colon in nonspecific colitis].

The paper is concerned with comparative assessment of the diagnostic potentialities of the x-ray, endoscopic and pathomorphological methods of investigation. The results of the examination of 100 patients operated upon for nonspecific ulcerative colitis (54) and Crohn's disease (46) were analyzed. The advantages of these methods were demonstrated.
