It was established that in male workers with poor health, working capacity levels also decrease, what was assessed with express-techniques. This facilitated the use of the working capacity level assessment as an integral index of individual and community health levels in mass medical examinations of both healthy and diseased people.

[Assessment of the physical development of children using the centile method].

In the course of a long-term socio-hygienic study characteristics of the physical development of the population in the city of Astrakhan were determined. All the methods used in the study were examined in succession. The objective advantages of the physical development standards estimated by centile method over standards estimated according to the scale of regression were substantiated.

[Trends in the dynamics of age-related morbidity and mortality from malignant neoplasms in the population of Astrakhan Province].

An analysis of the rates of morbidity and mortality from malignant disease in Astrakhan Region showed that these indexes tend to decrease. These standardised indexes for males are higher than for females. Neoplasms tend to occur in advanced age groups, particularly, in females.
