[Detoxication therapy in diffuse suppurative peritonitis].

Results of treatment of 284 patients operated upon for diffuse peritonitis are presented. The assessment is given of the significance of detoxication methods--forced fractionated peritoneal dialysis and washing of the abdominal cavity in treatment of diffuse peritonitis and their influence upon the outcome of the disease.

[A method of plasmapheresis in patients with hereditary hypercholesterolemia].

The authors describe a procedure of plasmapheresis with plasma ultrafiltration and the ultrafiltrate return to the patient. It has been shown that application of such a procedure of plasmapheresis permits eliminating lipids, with preservation of electrolytes, enzymes, amino acids, vitamins and other valuable plasma components.

[Isolated ultrafiltration in treating chronic heart failure].

Twenty-five patients with chronic heart failure resistant to drug therapy were subjected to isolated ultrafiltration (IUF) as part of the complex of therapeutic measures. Altogether 76 IUF sessions were made. The results of the use of IUF were controlled by the clinical observation, laboratory studies and ultrasonic exploration of the internal organs.
