In surgical clinic of Vladivostok State Medical University 48 patients were operated for postoperative ventral hernias with use of absorbable polymers. In group 1 (42 patients) the explant "Carbonicus-I" was used (period of absorption-2 years). 6 patients of group 2 underwent plastic repair with suture-glue duplication of aponeurosis of abdominal white line.

The data on the first experience in the use of synthetic resolvable materials in plasty of the anterior abdominal wall in children are reported. Tissue glue compositions based on alpha-cyanoacrylates as well as connective biocompatible elements (CBE) developed at the SRIIMT were used. An aponeurotic suture-glue duplication was utilized for plastic enforcement of the anterior abdominal wall; individual methods were developed for each concrete localization of the defects.

The cosmetic effect of operative interventions for the anterior abdominal wall hernia, vaginal process of peritoneum anomalies in 558 patients aged from 7 to 27 years was studied. The 15-year follow-up was available. Poor cosmetic results appropriateness were determined, the advantages of the sutureless abdominal wound closure were examined, an operative accesses for the umbilical hernia and the hernia of linea alba treatment were proposed.

Operations by the method of funiculocele adhesion were performed on 41 children of 1-13 years of age followed by good immediate and long-term results. No recurrences were noted.

A method of hernioadhesion was used by the authors for the operative treatment of inguinal hernias in children. The method lessened the injuring action of the inguinal hernia section by the application of the cyanacrylate glue for the treatment of the hernial sac and plasty of the inguinal canal. 108 hernioadhesions were performed in children with good long-term results.
