Objectives: To investigate the management of children with life-threatening airway obstruction from large mediastinal masses.
Methods: Review of the medical records of children with mediastinal masses and severe airway obstruction who were admitted to a multidisciplinary pediatric intensive care unit.
Results: Eight patients with 12 life-threatening events were identified.
We report an 8-year-old boy with acute leukemia who developed ecthyma gangrenosum secondary to infection with Exserohilum spp., a rare cause of human disease. The skin, paranasal sinuses and lungs were involved.

Objective: Pregnancy outcome and the effect of pregnancy on cardiac function were assessed in women cured of childhood cancer.
Study Design: Forty women who received doxorubicin as part of a chemotherapy protocol for a neoplastic disorder in childhood were followed up at the same center during pregnancy and after delivery.
Results: Thirty-seven women (72 pregnancies) completed follow-up.
