Explanatory Change Detection in Financial Markets by Graph-Based Entropy and Inter-Domain Linkage.

In this study, we analyzed structural changes in financial markets under COVID-19 to support investors' investment decisions. Because an explanation of these changes is necessary to respond appropriately to said changes and prepare for similar major changes in the future, we visualized the financial market as a graph. The hypothesis was based on expertise in the financial market, and the graph was analyzed from a detailed perspective by dividing the graph into domains.

Successful Treatment of Granulomatous-lymphocytic Interstitial Lung Disease in a Patient with CTLA-4 Deficiency.

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) causes granulomatous-lymphocytic interstitial lung disease (GLILD) and has a poor prognosis. We herein report a case of GLILD in a 49-year-old woman with CTLA-4 deficiency-associated CVID. The patient presented with dyspnea that had worsened over the past two years.

Graphomotor memory in Exner's area enhances word learning in the blind.

Handwriting is thought to impede vocabulary learning in sighted adults because the motor execution of writing interferes with efficient audiovisual processing during encoding. However, the motor memory of writing may facilitate adult word learning when visual sensory inputs are severely restricted. Using functional MRI, we show that late-blind participants, but not sighted participants, learned novel words by recruiting the left dorsal premotor cortex known as Exner's writing area and its functional coupling with the left hippocampus.

In dogs, pancreatic acinar cell injury is thought to be caused by decreased pancreatic blood flow due to heart failure. In previous our report, it demonstrated that decreased heart function causes a significant decrease in pancreatic blood flow in heart failure dog model caused by rapid ventricular pacing (RVP). However, the types of histopathological changes remain unclear.

How perception of personal space influence obstacle avoidance during walking: differences between young and older adults.

Individuals maintain a spatial margin or 'personal space' between themselves and others. The form of this space and strategies for avoiding obstacles can be influenced by participant characteristics such as age. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of personal space and obstacle avoidance strategies in young and older adults.

DIUTHAME enables matrix-free mass spectrometry imaging of frozen tissue sections.

Rationale: A recently developed matrix-free laser desorption/ionization method, DIUTHAME (desorption ionization using through-hole alumina membrane), was examined for the feasibility of mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) applied to frozen tissue sections. The permeation behavior of DIUTHAME is potentially useful for MSI as positional information may not be distorted during the extraction of analytes from a sample.

Methods: The through-hole porous alumina membranes used in the DIUTHAME chips were fabricated by wet anodization, were 5 μm thick, and had the desired values of 200 nm through-hole diameter and 50% open aperture ratio.

Entorhinal Layer II Calbindin-Expressing Neurons Originate Widespread Telencephalic and Intrinsic Projections.

In the present study we provide the first systematic and quantitative hodological study of the calbindin-expressing (CB+) principal neurons in layer II of the entorhinal cortex and compared the respective projections of the lateral and medial subdivisions of the entorhinal cortex. Using elaborate quantitative retrograde tracing, complemented by anterograde tracing, we report that the layer II CB+ population comprises neurons with diverse, mainly excitatory projections. At least half of them originate local intrinsic and commissural projections which distribute mainly to layer I and II.

Hepatic transcriptional profile and tissue distribution of cytochrome P450 1-3 genes in the red-crowned crane Grus japonensis.

The endangered red-crowned crane (Grus japonensis) is a protected species in eastern Hokkaido and injured specimens are treated with medication. The present study aimed at understanding the expression profiles of cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1-3 genes in red-crowned crane tissues. We used 14 individuals found dead in the wild in eastern Hokkaido or in Kushiro City Zoo.

Effect of maternal foraging habitat on offspring quality in the loggerhead sea turtle ().

Exploring a trade-off between quantity and quality of offspring allows differences in the fitness between alternative life histories to be accurately evaluated. We addressed the mechanism that maintains alternative life histories (small oceanic planktivores vs. large neritic benthivores) observed in a loggerhead sea turtle () population, which has been suggested to be environmental, based on the lack of genetic structure and a large difference in reproductive output.

The effect of gait speed and gait phase to the allocation of attention during dual task gait.

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to determine the change of allocation of attention caused by a difference in gait phase and gait speed. We also determined the relationship between attentional demand and gait automaticity change caused by the gait speed alteration. [Subjects and Methods] Ten male participated.

Myopericytoma in urinary bladder: a case report.

Background: Myopericytoma is reported to occur mainly in the skin and superficial soft tissue of the extremities. In contrast, occurrence in the urinary bladder is extremely rare.

Case Presentation: We describe a 75-year-old Japanese man who developed a submucosal tumor at the right trigone of his bladder that led to interference with the discharge of right ureteral calculus.

[A pilot study of contrast medium dose reduction using low tube voltage and iterative reconstruction: computed tomography angiography of the head].

This study aimed to reduce contrast medium dose without reducing the diagnostic capability of computed tomography (CT) angiography of the head. We evaluated the advanced statistical iterative reconstruction (ASiR) settings to adjust to low tube voltage CT. A syringe phantom was constructed using dilute contrast medium and was imaged at tube voltages of 80-120 kV.

Safety and efficacy of oral rehydration therapy until 2 h before surgery: a multicenter randomized controlled trial.

We present here a case of diffuse tracheobronchial wall spread of metastatic breast cancer who was successfully treated with trastuzumab plus vinorelbine chemotherapy. The patient had a left radical mastectomy for breast cancer in March 2000 and developed persistent cough and dyspnea in November 2006. Pulmonary function test demonstrated an obstructive pattern.
