Article Synopsis
  • The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in December 2019, poses a significant global health threat, particularly due to the challenges in predicting patient deterioration in hospitals.
  • Early interventions for at-risk patients may reduce complications and the need for intensive care, prompting the development of a predictive model based on electronic health records.
  • This model uses machine learning algorithms analyzing various clinical data, achieving solid accuracy metrics for predicting deterioration within 7-30 hours in both internal and external validations.
