We thoroughly investigated the structural, mechanical, electronic, vibrational, optical, thermodynamic, and a number of thermophysical properties of WN compound through first-principles calculations using the DFT based formalism The calculated structural parameters show very good agreement with the available theoretical and experimental results. The mechanical and dynamical stabilities of this compound have been investigated theoretically from the elastic constants and phonon dispersion curves. The Pugh's and Poisson's ratios of WN are located quite close to the brittle/ductile borderline.

Multilocation trials are usually performed in breeding and variety evaluation programs to identify stable genotype(s) with similar crop performance in various environments. The present study evaluated the stability of six selected potato varieties (BARI Alu-7, BARI Alu-8, BARI Alu-25, BARI Alu-28, BARI Alu-36, and BARI Alu-41) suitable for multiple locations (Barishal, Bogura, Cumilla, Jamalpur, Jashore, Munshiganj, Mymensingh, and Rajshahi) in Bangladesh from 2014 to 2019. The study considered genotype and environment as treatments, year as replications and used a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with to construct the genotype plus genotype-vs-environment interaction (GGE) model.

Unlabelled: Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) are deadly and infectious disease that impacts individuals in a variety of ways. Scientists have stepped up their attempts to find an antiviral drug that targets the spike protein (S) of Angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) (receptor protein) as a viable therapeutic target for coronavirus. The most recent study examines the potential antagonistic effects of 17 phytochemicals present in the plant extraction of on the anti-SARS-CoV-2 ACE2 protein.

Background: Gastric cancer, which is also known as stomach cancer, can be influenced by both germline and somatic mutations. Non-synonymous Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (nsSNPs) in germline have long been reported to play a pivotal role in cancer progression.

Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the nsSNP in GC-associated genes.

Article Synopsis
  • COVID-19 has severely impacted global public health systems, with a critical need for effective management strategies for mild and moderate cases to prevent severe complications.
  • Despite various repurposed medications, there is still a significant need for new treatment options, especially considering emerging virus variants.
  • A study assessing a herbal medication showed promising safety and efficacy results in moderate COVID-19 patients, leading to improved biochemical markers and reduced hospital stays compared to standard care alone.

X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP) is a member of inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family responsible for neutralizing the caspases-3, caspases-7, and caspases-9. Overexpression of the protein decreased the apoptosis process in the cell and resulting development of cancer. Different types of XIAP antagonists are generally used to repair the defective apoptosis process that can eliminate carcinoma from living bodies.
