A 79-year-old Caucasian woman was admitted to the hospital with a 1-week history of general deterioration, describing malaise, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. Concomitantly, she presented with urinary retention. Laboratory tests revealed severe hyponatremia secondary to the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH).

Introduction: Abiraterone acetate is an inhibitor of androgens biosynthesis, approved as first-line treatment in castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer. Abiraterone has been rarely associated with severe rhabdomyolysis, but the mechanism of muscle toxicity is unknown.

Case Report: We hereby present a case of severe rhabdomyolysis resulting in acute on chronic kidney injury following abiraterone initiation in a patient previously under rosuvastatin.

The case is reported of a 39-year-old severely obese woman who developed acute metabolic disorders after the administration of a short course of intravenous amiodarone. The main biological features were hypertriglyceridemia, hypoglycaemia, hyperlactatemia and hyperammonemia; all were reversible after amiodarone discontinuation. There was an associated rise in liver enzymes.

A 75-year-old man was admitted to the Department of internal medicine because of a 2-month history of neurological deterioration. During the previous year, he complained of recurrent sinusitis, asthma, arthralgias, myalgias and asthenia.
