Olfactory systems are indispensable for insects as they, including Western Flower Thrips (), use olfactory cues for ovipositing and feeding. use odorant binding proteins (OBPs) to transport semiochemicals to odorant receptors to induce a behavioural response from the sensillum lymph of the insect's antennae. This study identifies four OBPs of and analyses their expression at three stages of growth: larvae, adult males and adult females.

These hormones are also known to be involved in the insect defence system against toxins and pathogens. In this study, our aim was to demonstrate whether the application of external AKHs significantly enhances the efficacy of the entomopathogenic fungus in a model species (firebug ) and pest species (Egyptian cotton leafworm and pea aphid ).

We examined one neonicotinoid pesticide, imidacloprid, for its effects on the foraging behavior of free-flying honey bees (Apis mellifera anatoliaca) visiting artificial blue and white flowers. Imidacloprid doses, ranging from 1/5 to 1/50 of the reported LD50, were fed to bees orally.

Study Design: Experimental, randomized interventional trial.
Place And Duration Of Study: 1st Neurosurgery Clinic in Bakirkoy Mental Diseases Hospital, Bakirkoy, Istanbul, Turkey, in the year 2010.
Purpose: Temozolomide (TMZ) has anti-tumor activity in patients with malignant glioma. Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) may enhance the efficacy of certain therapies that are limited because of the hypoxic tumor microenvironment. We examined the combined effects of TMZ-HBO in a rat glioma model.
