- The study aimed to examine how different vertical facial types affect the perception of lower facial asymmetry by orthodontists, dentists, and laypeople.
- Researchers altered photos of three women with distinct growth patterns (normal, vertical, and horizontal) and conducted a survey with 75 orthodontists, 73 dentists, and 78 laypeople rating facial attractiveness based on varying degrees of asymmetry.
- Results showed that both orthodontists and dentists could detect minor asymmetries better in normal growth patterns, while significant asymmetries were recognized more in horizontal growth patterns by orthodontists and laypeople.
An ultra-low power CMOS image sensor with on-chip energy harvesting and power management capability is introduced in this paper. The photodiode pixel array can not only capture images but also harvest solar energy. As such, the CMOS image sensor chip is able to switch between imaging and harvesting modes towards self-power operation.
