Objective: In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of Hypomania Checklist-32-Revised.

Method: The study was carried out with 80 patients diagnosed with bipolar I disorder, 26 patients diagnosed with bipolar II disorder and 42 patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder attending the out- and in-patient psychiatry departments of three university hospitals and one training hospital, and 116 healthy volunteers consisting of university students. Mean duration of illness was 15,1 years for the bipolar disorder group, and 9,3 years for the major depressive disorder group.

This article reports the results of qualitative research conducted to investigate the change in the traditional manner of giving and accepting condolences in Sanliurfa, a city with a unique sociocultural structure in the southeastern part of Turkey. Our methodology was based on direct observation of behavior and detailed, open-ended interviews with participants. This article aims to investigate the reasons for moving the condolence tradition from family homes to specially built condolence houses a decade ago and discusses the functional significance of the ceremonial events in giving and accepting condolences.

Objective: For the onset of illness and possible recurrence during the childbearing period, women with bipolar disorder (BD) are at a higher risk. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of clinical and psychosocial factors associated with pregnancy and the postpartum period on the course of BD.

Methods: The childbearing and illness history of 72 women with BD were assessed to determine mood episodes related to the childbearing period.

In this paper, an extraordinary mother-son relationship involving 46 year-old, married, male patient with three children is discussed. He had never had any psychiatric complaint until his mother's death. However, he developed severe depressive and somatic symptoms following his 80 year-old mother's death.

Domestic violence is a problem which severely threatens physical and mental health in Turkey as well as the rest of the world.
