Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare serum autotaxin levels in early-onset and late-onset preeclamptic pregnant women and healthy controls at a university hospital.
  • Among 55 preeclamptic patients, autotaxin levels were significantly higher in early-onset cases (1.16 ng/ml) than in late-onset (0.7 ng/ml), and these levels were also higher compared to healthy pregnant women.
  • The findings suggest that serum autotaxin may be a potential marker for early-onset preeclampsia, but more research is needed to validate this.
