Shoulder Dysfunction Post Spinal Accessory Nerve Preserving Neck Dissections: Our Experience.

Apart from complete surgical clearance of the malignancy, reducing morbidity and improving quality of life of the patient is also considered. One of the morbidities linked with neck dissections is shoulder dysfunction. The aim of our study is to analyse the functional outcomes in patients operated for various neck dissections with preservation of the Spinal accessory nerve.

Knowledge, Awareness, and Practice Regarding Management of Dental Trauma in Children among Dental Practitioners: A Cross-sectional Survey.

Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the current level of knowledge and understanding about dental trauma and its management in children among dental practitioners.

Materials And Methods: The study was conducted after obtaining the ethical clearance from the Institutional Review Board (IRB). A structured questionnaire was prepared, which comprised 20 questions and was validated by dental trauma experts.

Prevalence of Early Primary Teeth Loss in 5-9-year-old Schoolchildren in and around Melmaruvathur: A Cross-sectional Study.

Aim: The goal of this study was to determine the frequency of early primary tooth loss among school children in and around Melmaruvathur, Tamil Nadu, India.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study involving all the children aged between 5 and 9 years in and around Melmaruvathur, Tamil Nadu, India, from January 2022 to July 2022 was conducted. A total of 20 government schools were approached for participation in the study, study population consisted of 800 government school children (358 boys and 442 girls).

3,4 Dihydroxycinnamic acid stimulates immune system function by modifying the humoral antibody response - An in vivo study.

The immunomodulatory property of 3,4-Dihydroxy-cinnamic acid (DCA) was studied under the normal and cyclophosphamide induced immunosuppressive conditions in animal models. The immunomodulatory activity was evaluated by studying the haematological parameters, humoral antibody, based on the plaque forming cell count, the bone marrow cellularity, the α-esterase's producing active cells, delayed type hypersensitive assay, phagocytic index assays. The chemopreventive effect of DCA was determined by cyclophosphamide induced immunosuppression in animals.

Functional characterization of novel mutations in UL54 of ganciclovir resistant HCMV strain using structural analysis.

This study reports the probable impact of the coupled mutations observed in our clinical isolate of HCMV UL54 polymerase, through structural bioinformatics approaches. The reported variant was found to be resistant to Ganciclovir (GCV) as per the clinical records. The presence of Glutamine deletion at 639 (Glu639) and a mis sense mutation of Serine 655 Leucine (Ser655Leu) in UL54 were identified by DNA sequencing and were predicted to lie in the DNA polymerase type-II domain.

Background: The present study was undertaken to determine the rate of occurrence of Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) among kidney transplant recipients and donors by application of direct detection methods and to understand HCMV infection/disease development among transplanted patients as a prospective study.

Results: Peripheral blood samples collected from 76 kidney donors and 76 recipients from September 2007 to August 2009 were subjected to pp65 antigenemia and Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) assays. Data were analyzed under Group A, B and C.
