Supercooled liquids display sluggish dynamics, often attributed to their structural characteristics, yet the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here we conduct numerical investigations into the structure-dynamics relationship in model glass-forming liquids, with a specific focus on an elementary particle rearrangement mode known as the 'T1 process'. We discover that the ability of a T1 process to preserve glassy structural order before and after is pivotal towards determining a liquid's fragility-whether it exhibits super-Arrhenius-like or Arrhenius-like behaviour.

Although an increased risk of myocarditis has been observed after vaccination with mRNA encoding severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 spike protein, its underlying mechanism has not been elucidated. This study investigated the direct effects of spike receptor-binding domain (S-RBD) on human cardiomyocytes differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC-CMs). Immunostaining experiments using ACE2 wild-type (WT) and knockout (KO) iPSC-CMs treated with purified S-RBD demonstrated that S-RBD was bound to ACE2 and internalized into the subcellular space in the iPSC-CMs, depending on ACE2.

The modulation of molecular interaction with a [3]rotaxane structure enabled a luminescent thermoresponse with high sensitivity over a wide temperature range. Herein, a pyrene moiety was encapsulated by permethylated α-cyclodextrins and was introduced into a polymer network material of poly(vinyl alcohol) as a cross-linker. Background: Atezolizumab plus bevacizumab therapy was recently introduced as the first line for unresectable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but immune-related adverse events (IrAEs) due to atezolizumab are a great concern. Here, we report the case of a patient who developed fatal acquired coagulation factor deficiency after hepatectomy for HCC, treated with atezolizumab and bevacizumab before surgery.
