Methods: Phenotypic and genomic characterizations were performed on 11 Gram-negative pathogens cultured from war wounds at an intermediate evacuation hospital in Dnipro.
Results: The analysis revealed both susceptible and extensively drug-resistant strains present in cultures, including high-risk global clones carrying carbapenemases.
Objective: The aim: To describe microbiological features of the Staphylococcus spp. involved in complications of dental implantation.
Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The main method was bacteriological.
Antimony sulfide, SbS, is interesting as the phase-change material for applications requiring high transmission from the visible to telecom wavelengths, with its band gap tunable from 2.2 to 1.6 eV, depending on the amorphous and crystalline phase.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: Sputum, tracheobronchial lavage waters and/ or deep smear from the posterior pharyngeal wall were taken from children with genetically confirmed Cystic Fibrosis. Bacteriological method was the main.
Mesoporous TiO films with enhanced photocatalytic activity in both UV and visible wavelength ranges were developed through a non-conventional atomic layer deposition (ALD) process at room temperature. Deposition at such a low temperature promotes the accumulation of by-products in the amorphous TiO films, caused by the incomplete hydrolysis of the TiCl precursor. The additional thermal annealing induces the fast recrystallisation of amorphous films, as well as an acidic treatment of TiO.

Subjects And Methods: A total of 129 people were examined. 51 patients with ACOS were followed up in Group 1; Group 2 included 38 patients with severe asthma; Group 3 consisted of 40 patients with severe COPD.
Aim: To study the peripheral blood level of leptin and adiponectin and their possible effect on the functional status of the respiratory system in young asthmatic patients in relation to body mass index (BMI) for the optimization of asthma therapy.
Materials And Methods: Examinations were made in 133 people, including a study group of 93 patients with asthma who were divided into 2 groups according to BMI: 1) those with a BMI of less 25 kg/m2 and 2) those with a BMI of 30 kg/m2 or more, as well as a control group of 40 apparently healthy patients. The investigators studied external respiratory function (ERF), the peripheral blood levels of leptin and adiponectin, the biochemical composition of plasma, by determining total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides.
Aim: To study cytokine status and to reveal a possible relationship of clinical and functional indicators and systemic inflammation in patients with severe asthma to tobacco smoking. Subjects and methods. Examinations were made in 139 patients with severe asthma during its exacerbation and without the latter after 12 months.

Antireflux surgery in recent years become a standard treatment for complicated forms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Complicated forms of GERD are usually the result of the availability of hiatal hernia (HH). Acquired shortening of the esophagus is a natural complication of severe reflux esophagitis developing on a background of sliding HH.

The variant of fibrin glue produced with cryoprecipitation (concentration of coagulant protein not less than 60 g/l) was applied as reparation stimulator. Fibrin glue has been used for closure of 8 duodenal and 4 gastric fistulas with chime loss to 1.

The features of the morphology of paravalvular insufficiency (PVI) were studied on the basis of analysis of 5,113 prosthetic replacements of the heart valves. From the clinical results and noninvasive and invasive data the authors revealed the peculiarities of the disorders of hemodynamics and functional condition of patients with PVI. Information on the specific features and the results of 35 repeated operations in PVI are discussed.
