NAG was measured before and after treatment and compared in 11 acute prostatitis patients, 13 chronic prostatitis patients and 10 healthy volunteers. Urinary NAG before treatment was 34.1 +/- 18.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTubular basement membrane (TBM) was prepared from normal human kidneys and solubilized with various enzymes. Collagenase digestion released antigenic moieties from the TBM. All four anti-TBM antibodies we studied, three from patients with idiopathic tubulo-interstitial nephritis (TIN) and one from a renal allograft recipient, distinctively reacted with collagenase-digested (CD) TBM during enzyme-linked immunoassay and could discriminate among sera of normal controls or of other nephritis patients, including anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM) nephritis.

The predictability of anaerobic threshold (AT) from maximal aerobic power, distance running performance, chronological age, and total running distance achieved on the treadmill (TRD) was investigated in a sample of 53 male distance runners, 17-23 years of age. The dependent variable was oxygen uptake (Vo2) at which AT was detected (i.e.

More attention should be directed to upper urinary tract infections as they cause renal parenchymal damage. Recently, many reports on antibody-coated bacteria (ACB) in urological diseases have been made. We performed ACB tests in 68 cases of urological infectious diseases.

The relationship between the cellular stromal reaction and systemic immunity was examined in 34 cases of bladder tumors. To determine the cellular stromal reaction, we examined the local lymph follicles such as peritumoral lymphocyte accumulation, and the immunoblast cells having abundant, basophilic cytoplasm with large vesicular nuclei which contained 1-3 large and irregular nucleoli. To measure systemic immunity, lymphocytes, T cells, B cells, IgG-Fc receptor T cells, and lymphocyte blast formation ratio with PHA were examined.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFibrinogen fragments (X, Y, D and E) and fibrin fragments (D-dimer and E) were examined in the urine of 52 patients with various types of renal diseases. One or more of the fibrinogen fragments were detectable in all the urine specimens. D-Dimer together with fibrinogen fragments was found in 38 of the 52 patients.

The cells adhered to the glass surface were detached by supersonic vibration and both of adhered cells to the glass surface and detached cells after the supersonic exposure were cultivated for one week. And the cell activity of the detached cells was estimated with cell multiplication by cell nuclei counting and their morphological changes.
