Emerging evidence highlights the key role of microRNA (miR)-21 in cell-to-cell communication and tumorigenesis. However, limited knowledge exists on the levels and clinical meaning of miR-21 in extracellular vesicles (EVs) of patients with breast cancer (BC). We assessed EV-derived miR-21 levels in one hundred women: 30 with early BC (EBC), 30 with metastatic BC on treatment progression (MBC), 30 cancer survivors on follow-up (FU) and 10 healthy donors (HD) as age- and body mass index (BMI)-matched controls.

Nevertheless, the mechanisms underlying this association have not yet been clarified. SSc and BC share several molecular pathways, which seem to play a common etiopathogenetic role.

Despite this, there are no prospective studies supporting this sequence.
Methods: We performed a meta-analysis using real world data to determine the efficacy of T-DM1 after 1 line TP in HER2 positive MBC patients.
: Aims of the study were to explore outcomes and toxicities of chemotherapy-immunotherapy (CT-IT) for patients (pts) with metastatic nonsquamous non-small-cell lung cancer (mNSCLC) in a real-world population. Clinical data of 26 pts with mNSCLC treated with CT-IT at our institution from January 2020 to January 2021 were collected retrospectively. Median follow-up time was 7.

Palbociclib is a weak base with pH-dependent solubility and potential drug-drug interaction at the absorption level may affect clinical pharmacokinetics. The current study was aimed at investigating the effect of co-administration of PPIs and palbociclib on progression-free survival (PFS) in metastatic breast cancer (mBC) patients.

This is a retrospective study aiming to explore the clinical and pathological features of BC developed by SSc patients.

Methods: This retrospective single-institution analysis compared the clinical pathological characteristics of BC diagnosed between May 2020 and July 2020, after a 2-month screening interruption, with BC diagnosed in the same trimester of 2019 when mammographic screening was regularly carried out.
Results: The 2-month stop in mammographic screening produced a significant decrease in in situ BC diagnosis (-10.
Introduction: In early-stage HER2 positive breast cancer (BC) patients, tumor response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) predict survival outcomes. Patients achieving less than pathological complete response (pCR) have a worse prognosis, however, this group is heterogeneous. Nowadays limited data on predictive/prognostic biomarkers in patients with residual cancer disease are available.

The role of the new endocrine approaches in elderly women is still unclear.
Methods: We performed a meta-analysis of first line phase II/III randomized trials on ET versus combined strategies considering clinical benefit and safety profile.
Background: Fat tissue is strongly involved in BC tumorigenesis inducing insulin resistance, chronic inflammation and hormonal changes. Computed tomography (CT) imaging instead of body mass index (BMI) gives a reliable measure of skeletal muscle mass and body fat distribution. The impact of body composition parameters (BCPs) on chemosensitivity is still debated.

According to HR expression, HER2 + BC show different clinical characteristics, treatment sensitivity and prognosis. The interaction between HR and HER2 pathways remains incompletely understood.

A suspension of CNC, produced by acid hydrolysis of cellulose and used as such or mixed with lignin and/or siloxane derivatives (PDMS), was applied on rotted wood samples of Norway spruce. X-Ray diffraction analysis on CNC powder showed high crystallinity index.

The relevance of a risk assessment of the built heritage was clearly justified due to the fact that it acts as a pollutant repository and hazardous pollutants have the capacity to penetrate into materials. However, the limitation of the sampling processes due to the high value of the built heritage makes a correct evaluation difficult. For that reason, in the present work, the potential of agar gels as non-invasive samplers of built heritage deterioration products, like crusts and patinas, was evaluated.

Cleaning is one of the most important, delicate, and at the same time controversial processes in the conservation treatment of paintings. Although a strict definition of cleaning would be the removal of dirt, grime, or other accretions (surface cleaning), in the conservation field, cleaning is used in the broader meaning to include thinning/removing altered or “unwanted layers” of materials without damaging or altering the physicochemical properties of the surfaces to be preserved. The cleaning of unvarnished paintings is one of the most critical issues that are currently discussed.
