We retrospectively examined patients with ultrasonographically occlusive acute proximal deep vein thrombosis (DVT). All patients were categorized into two groups on the basis of whether great saphenous vein (GSV) flow toward the common femoral vein was detected (flow [+]; n=10) or undetected (flow [-]; n=10). Imatinib mesylate was administered at 400-600 mg/day for 6 months, and the tumor became resectable. The patient was a 58-year-old female who visited a gynecologic hospital with the chief complaint of a swollen feeling in the lower abdomen.
