The Effects of Problematic Internet Use and Emotional Connotation on Internet Slang Processing: Evidence from a Lexical Decision Task.

Young people use slang for identifying themselves with a particular social group, gaining social recognition and respect from that group, and expressing their emotional state. One feature of Internet slang is its active use by youth in online communication, which, under certain conditions, may cause problematic Internet use (PIU). We conducted two studies in young Russian speakers (n = 115, n = 106).

THE INFLUENCE OF SODIUM SALTS OF CARBOXYMETHYLATES OF OXYETHYLATED ISONONYLPHENOLS ON THE NEUTRALIZING FUNCTION OF THE LIVER IN A SUBACUTE TOXICOLOGICAL EXPERIMENT.

The study was conducted as a part of research work "Biochemical mechanisms of the development of dismetabolic processes under the influence of chemical environmental factors". The purpose of the present work was to study the effects produced by sodium salts of carboxymethylates of oxyethylated isononylphenols on the state of the microsomal monooxygenase system of hepatocyte detoxification and on the conjugation reaction in conditions of a subacute experiment and to reveal a potential danger for homoitherms and human beings. The object of the study were the white rats of WAG population.

Altai pika (Ochotona alpina) alarm calls: individual acoustic variation and the phenomenon of call-synchronous ear folding behavior.

Non-hibernating pikas collect winter food reserves and store them in hay piles. Individualization of alarm calls might allow discrimination between colony members and conspecifics trying to steal food items from a colony pile. We investigated vocal posture, vocal tract length, and individual acoustic variation of alarm calls, emitted by wild-living Altai pikas Ochotona alpina toward a researcher.

A STUDY OF ADAPTIVE REACTIONS OF THE CARDIORESPIRATORY SYSTEM IN PSYCHOEMOTIONAL STRESS CONDITIONS.

The article presents modern data on the physiological mechanisms study of the stress resistance development, which occurs in medical students in the dynamics of studying in higher educational institution in junior courses (1-3 courses). The adaptive reactions of the cardiorespiratory system in conditions of psychoemotional load were studied. Results showed that development of adaptation syndrome in those conditions greatly depends on speed of formation and intensity level of intersystem integration in cardiorespiratory system.

[Analysis of immediate and mid-term outcomes of surgical and endoscopic treatment of patients with coronary heart disease and multiple lesions of coronary arteries].

The study included retrospective analysis of the results of treatment in 529 patients with CHD and multiple coronary lesions divided into 2 groups. Group 1 included 280 patients who underwent surgical myocardial revascularization, group 2 comprised 249 patients after coronary stenting. The groups did not significantly differ in the occurrence of serious clinical complications (death, acute myocardial infarction) in both early and mid-late postoperative periods.

[Preoperative accelerated radiotherapy for breast cancer--is it a historical delusion or a legitimate method of treatment?].

An effective procedure for preoperative chemoradiotherapy is suggested to intensify treatment of patients with extensive, local and/or regional, metastases of breast cancer. It uses medication followed by accelerated radiotherapy which offers the combined advantages of "concentrated" and "conventional" irradiation. High local and systemic effect is produced right at the outset thus making use of high-cost "first-line" cytostatics unnecessary and avoiding delay of surgical intervention.

[Surgical treatment of a subclavian artery aneurysm].

The article describes a rare clinical case of an atherosclerotic (poststenotic) aneurysm of the second segment of the subclavian artery, also involving the opening of the internal thoracic artery (ITA) in a male patient with CAD. The authors showed a possibility of preserving the ITA during resection of the aneurysm, in order to use it later on for surgical revascularization of the myocardium.

Aneurysms of the extracranial internal carotid artery.

Aneurysm of the carotid artery is a rare pathology. According to the modern concepts, aneurysm of the artery is classified as a local enlargement of its diameter, namely by over than 50% as compared to the adjacent unchanged segment. In addition to the establishment as to whether aneurysm is present, the aims of examination consist in specification of the site, size, presence and extent of the interluminal thrombus.

Y configuration of the internal thoracic arteries in myocardial revascularization.

This paper describes the short-term results of surgical myocardial revascularization in 35 patients. Y configuration from one or two internal thoracic arteries was applied for bypass grafting of the left coronary artery. In 4 patients with truncal stenosis of the left coronary artery (LCA) or proximal stenoses of the anterior interventricular artery (AIVA) and circumflex artery, the length of the left internal thoracic artery (LITA) appeared adequate for creation of Y bypass and revascularization of the entire LCA pool.

[The wound microflora of patients with gunshot injuries to the extremities during a mass hospitalization].

The dynamic study of the microflora of bullet wounds in 32 patients was carried out. In cases of mass hospitalization coccal microflora (staphylococci and streptococci) was mainly isolated from wounds, at the period of treatment hospital infections with enterobacteria, Pseudomonas and Enterococcus occurred. Before cleaning the wound a decrease in the contamination rate for all microbial species was observed.

The bacterial contamination of blood and its components was studied in 517 corpses during the first 2-4 hours after sudden death. The work deals with the management of vasorenal hypertension in children and adolescents. The Bakulev Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery had 185 children with arterial hypertension from 1965 to 1990. Their ages ranged from 12 months to 17 years.

[Capillaries of the intrinsic nerves of human skeletal muscles].

Development of blood capillaries in the human intraorganic nerves has been studied. The intramuscular nerves of fetuses, newborns, children and mature persons (88 cases in all) make the object of the investigation. Combination of light optic methods and electron microscopy is used.

[Acetylation of sulfadimezine and ethazole in rats].

The paper is concerned with studies into acetylation of sulfadimezine (S) in Wistar, August and random-bred rats and into that of ethazole in Wistar rats. Age-associated differences in S acetylation were examined in random-bred animals and the effect of phenobarbital on S acetylation was investigated in Wistar and August rats. Interlinear differences as regards S acetylation were found to be absent in the presence of sexual dimorphism as to the sign under study: the females were disclosed to be rapid while males to be slow S acetylators.
