The interaction between insulin resistance and inflammation plays a central role in the development of chronic diseases, although the mechanism is not fully understood. We previously demonstrated that regulator of G-protein signaling-10 (RGS10) protein is a negative modulator of the inflammatory response in macrophages and microglia. Because inflammation is a critical component in the development of high fat diet-induced insulin resistance, in this study we investigated whether RGS10 is involved in the diet-dependent regulation of glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity.
